They had the change to (well the politicians did) to say they could go it on their own in what 2012 and they turned it down.

Meh, only selective orders, we've disobeyed them on the Income tax of Apple , Facebook, Twitter & Google, our Corporate Tax rate, Climate Change legislation, how many refugees we take in, our system of housing Asylum Seekers in camps, Irish Neutrality, the EU common defence , EU Peacekeeping duties etc etc etc,
We have voted NO on multiple referendum on EU treaties and been made to vote again,
Everytime an EU vote comes up we vote No and then it gets in,
But hey if voting worked we wouldn't have Slow Joe bodging his way through a Presidential speech every 2 days
And Nicola Sturgeon has said many times her first act as a free Independent Scotland will be to rejoin the EU.
