I have noticed several news stories no longer refer to people as homeless. They are now "unhoused" persons. I am not sure of the reason behind the change. It's just something I noticed within the last week.:shr:

It kind of reminded me of when calling someone who entered the country illegally was changed to undocumented migrant instead of illegal aliens. We all know how that turned out. :gaah:

Maybe part of the social engineering/psychology (guilt by ownership) that will usher in You Will Own Nothing And Be Happy agenda.

As some of you know, I was homeless for a time.

These Khazarian Commie name changers once again earn that moniker.

Unhoused is clinical and emotionless. Homeless is a cry for what was lost. My favorite teacup and that particular window and comfy chair to curl up and read an old book. My yarn and needles. Most of my clothes. My garden. My Library. My kitchen, which was the very heart beat of my little home...

They want to trivialize all of that and I'll not let them- ever. My words will mean what I want them to. This lot don't get a vote.

The difference between house and home is vast.

"Home is the one place in the universe that, when you go there, they can't throw you out."

There but for the Grace of God go I.

I don't think anybody would call you a vagrant, however.

Most of the "domestically challenged" folk that I've encountered belong back in the institution. Or rehab.

Sad state of affairs indeed.

ETA: Then again, I have a good friend who once lived under an LA overpass, smoking crack around the burn barrels with the locals.

When his 6 weeks of vacation time was up, he thanked his new friends for a good time and caught a flight home.
He was back at his desk and running his software company as usual the next day.

There are people farther out there than I am. It takes all kinds. ;)

There are homeless people who are in that position through very little or no fault of their own. When that happens, it's temporary and they do whatever they can to make it as temporary as possible.

The vast majority of long-term homeless people are homeless either by drug addiction, mental illness or by their own personal choice to be homeless. Particularly in this country, there are SO many resources available to help people that I don't buy the argument that evil capitalism keeps people homeless forever. It's very possible that being homeless is better than their alternative options, but again, they are making a choice.

I'm not P/C, never been P/C and don't plan on ever being P/C. As far as I'm concerned Political Correctness is just another form of lying! Or trying to put lipstick on a pig. No matter how you paint it....it's still a PIG! If you're homeless....then that's what you are, which is neither good or bad, it simply is what it is. If you're ILLEGAL and an ALIEN....then guess what.....YOU'RE AN ILLEGAL ALIEN!! Don't like, tough, deal with it and GO HOME!!

If that hurts your feelings then maybe you should change the situation or toughen up buttercup!

If you are not homeless, then you are housed. Since you don't own what you have to keep paying (taxes) for, being housed is the same as being hosed. And if you are unhosed or unhoused, then you are implying someone is dirty and needing to get hosed down. This won't last long. You are dirty unless the taxman takes you to the cleaners.

I was watching or reading something the other day and there were several words used that seems to be replacements.
I wish I could remember what they were. I was actually thinking about starting a thread.

An accurate interpretation . . . . .

Those that control the meanings of words do so to push the satanic leftist programs of destruction.

Once they get their opponents using the words they just move on with the next moral destructive acts.

I’ve no wish to be the Devil’s Advocate here…just sharing my recent perspective. I’ve been down in Wa past couple months caring for a grievously ill brother. He is a grizzled old logger/outdoorsman/train engineer who - even when he had a house - CHOSE to camp in the wilds. He gave up the house, but is not a pan-handling bum…merely a man who prefers outdoor spaces, not unlike FreedomoftheHills’ Einar.

I felt I had to clarify for many doctors, nurses, admins, advocates, social people, etc that he yes, he has no home address, just a POBox - but he chooses to camp (or as David puts it ‘glamps’ because he does enjoy comfortable camping). He’s in a campground, or in the wild. He maintains a high degrees of cleanliness and a lifetime of experience making amazing meals he enjoys creating over fire - he just likes the outdoors better and wants to keep that as long as he is able.

‘Homeless‘ just brings a picture of dirty, panhandling bums…but ‘unhoused’ will eventually do the exact same thing…so it’s a futile exercise in correct-think semantics.

Just my 2 little cents ~~

Master suite or master bedroom/bath are now primary suite and primary bedroom and bath.

Per several house-hunting shows I’ve watched lately.

I guess pretty soon my king-sized bed will have a new name too.

I watch House Hunters too and noticed that the master bedroom is now the 'Primary' bedroom. Will bathrooms get a new name? Will the kitchen be called the "food preparation area'; living room will now be the 'central lounging area?

Neither here nor there.

There are a couple of reasons for it to be called the primary bedroom now, one of which is because most new builds now have all of the bedrooms with their own full sized, think master bathroom sized, bathrooms off of those bedrooms, and the bedrooms themselves are huge, not just the master bedroom.

No, it doesn’t. The “how resolved you are” only addresses whether or not you walk away, or are carried out feet first after the gunfight with police.

But they didn't throw you out, did they? You can call it semantics, but the definitions remain.

Neither here nor there.
Try not paying your property taxes and say that.

Especially in Story County, Iowa!!! We know been there, talk about a nightmare... kept the house and made it work out... had it not been for the fact that I have a decent LT storage system in place it would have been the choice between food and losing the house! Here if you miss your payment in September, and the second payment in March, they auction off your house!
