Funny but true story: this is a '91 Cruise Air II by Georgie Boy. (John Deere made it)
We (DH and I) were looking for an RV for around $8,000-9,000 that we could do some work on to get it up to snuff. We found this one advertised for $9,000. The guy SHOULD have been a TB2Ker but never heard of this or some of the other big forums. He was very anti-gov and anti-tax, and was telling us that he was not going to pay the IRS any money based on a lot of different points, including laws that were established to be illegal, the bankruptcy of the US, admiralty law, etc. You all know the drill. While we were negotiating, the guy got a certified letter from the IRS indicating his money, etc was being seized. Oops. Seeing as how we had cash, he promptly dropped the price to $7,000. My husband is a canny man and a savvy negotiator. We walked off. The guy called us later, offering $6,000. My DH pointed out all of the flaws we found in the RV (water tank leaks, bad tires, break issues, genny issues, etc) and told him we'd give him $4,000 and not a penny more. The guy hollered at DH for a bit then hung up. He called the next day stating he would take $4,000 CASH but we had to come RIGHT THEN. DH did not have the time to drop everything and go (Saturday) and told the guy "We'll be there on Monday". Guy fumed and said he would sell it to someone else. It was still there on Monday so we picked it up and dropped it off at a local shop. $2,500 later we had all new tires, new breaks and master cylinder, new belts and hoses, hydraulics fixed, rebuilt carb, new plugs, cap, rotor and fuel filter, and smog certificate! Unfortunately right at that time (last Oct) I became very ill and was not ready to leave. I am fine now and ready to rock and roll! The RV already had a new roof and everything on the inside (fridge, stove, heaters, AC, tv et all ) already worked perfectly. This RV only had one prior owner before Tin Foil Guy: a little old guy that kept every receipt for every repair/ tune up, oil change etc the RV ever had! Tin Foil Guy gave us a giant envelope with all of it in there, TFG only had the RV for 6 months before he sold it to us and never even registered it in his name, lol. It only has 35,000 miles on it and the receipts verify it! We feel very blessed
We've taken it out for a few short trips but my sister and her mechanic friend are going to take it out on a bigger trip to work out the bugs before we take it out of state
