PLAY Russian Folk Video - warm, funny and made me smile

I wanted to post this, on one of the saddest days of my life (the private viewing for Nightwolf is today) this video made me laugh through the tears. Nightwolf would have loved this! The band and a cast of villages act out an old Russian folks song about a very unusual man in "our village" the scenery is breathtaking, the translated words hilarious, and it is all in good fun (something so very lacking in most media today). Nightwolf would have loved this and since he isn't here to see it I am sharing it will all of you - enjoy!

Please feel free to post other videos that make YOU smile, even if you are sad...

About 8 minutes long and worth every minute (trust me they will fly by)

My German housemate understands Russian (her Mom is a certified translator) and she even almost smiled. And I have friends that are Russian Orthodox converts who can't wait to show their priest.

Has No Life - Lives on TB
After recently getting access to TB2k after my Hurricane experience, I was deeply saddened by the news of your dear husband, Melodi.

Words cannot express the sorrow I feel for you, yet at the same time, the description of your DH sounds like he will indeed be chuckling at that preciously funny video you both can laugh at!

Thank you for sharing it and letting us laugh and pray along with and for you my dear.

Thank you, the private viewing is over, they did an amazing job laying him out like an early Norse/Migration age chieftain they even found a sword when I couldn't find his - I gave the nice young women (I suspect a future Middle Ages/SCA member) a tutorial on not touching the blade and I think she was in shock when I just flipped it over properly and showed it off holding it on my sleeve. I think: Wolf loved it when I did that right in front of his coffin.

She didn't know we had met playing the folk harp and handing it back and forth to each other and she had folk harp music in the background.

When
the music stopped I sang a rather tearful version of The Unquiet Grave since he loved that song as a goodbye, we took a few more pictures and he will go to the fire tomorrow.

A friend with a degree in Celtic and Norse archeology will build a small proper carn in the backyard for his ashes.

We will hold a more public memorial (mostly local friends) when it is finished.

Thanks so much, everyone and yes, I think every village has a guy like that, and not just in Russia but in small villages everywhere.
