Russia’s Shivulech volcano could burst into ‘powerful eruption’ any time

Story highlights

The head of the Russian Academy of Sciences' Far East Branch Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, Alexei Ozerov, was quoted by Russia's official news agency, RIA, as saying that the volcano's dome is extremely hot.

The Shiveluch volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula in the Russian Far East has increased its activity and is now in danger of erupting violently, the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Response Team said on Sunday.
"As growth of the lava dome continues, a strong fumaroles activity, an incandescence of the lava dome, explosions, and hot avalanches accompanies this process," the observatory said on its website.
"Ash explosions up to 10-15 kilometres (9.32 miles) ... could occur at any time. Ongoing activity could affect international and low-flying aircraft."
The head of the Russian Academy of Sciences' Far East Branch Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, Alexei Ozerov, was quoted by Russia's official news agency, RIA, as saying that the volcano's dome is extremely hot.
Shiveluch, one of Kamchatka's biggest volcanoes with a summit elevation of 3,283 metres (10,771 feet), is also one of the peninsula's most active, with an estimated 60 major eruptions over the course of the last 10,000 years.
NASA reports that the most recent and most violent eruption of the volcano occurred in 2007.

Depending on the ferocity of the eruption, sufficient ash could be released into the atmosphere to bring overall atmospheric temperatures down in the northern hemisphere.

End of global warming?

Let's Go Brandon!
This volcano needs to erupt, so as to help
with The Grand Solar Minimum, which is
the only way to stop the climate change BS.

May it massively erupt, turning day into night,
as its ash helps to put Europe, into the coldest
winter known since The Dalton Minimum.

Please be safe everyone.

Regards to all.

Nowski, I am always concerned for The Helpless, The Hopeless, and The Innocent. Too many die, daily, without any help from any diety, so therefore, it would not be my desire to see them suffer in even greater numbers. Each death of those of my concern, should be all thinking people's concern, for each death diminishes all, and reduces the possible number of potential greatness. I, too, was of the school of "kill 'em all, and let God sort 'em out." No longer. We cannot afford to lose another Jonas Salk, a Stephen Hawking, or Leonardo da Vinci. We must not remove the great potentialities through poor thinking and actions. We are what we think, say, and do. Likewise, our progeny are a result of their upbringing. It's long past time for us to be responsible for our thoughts, deeds, and words. Not preaching to You, but to any who will read, ponder, and heed my words.

Not to mention that usually when a volcano (or volcanoes) erupt with enough ash to cool the Earth for four or five years if Europe is affected, so are the Northern parts of the United States and pretty much all of Canada. I won't be freezing alone...besides the stove guys are here (for real) installing three turf/wood/coal stoves and we have enough fuel to get through the Winter that way if we have to. But my goodness the noise from the drills! The cats are not happy...lol!

We have paid for a fireplace insert in sept. Paid over 4,000 usd. 8 to 10 week wait for ship date , just got a blurb about it being 3 more weeks before shipping about 2 weeks ago.
All from their website advertising ..." in stock and ready to ship".

Buck 91 insert. Now the company is advertising "ships in 2 to 3 weeks" for their black friday sale.

The damn things are made in America.

What is the hold up?
Are the catalyst made in china?

"Supply chain issues" are bloody hokum.
Created by our idiots in charge of the global reset.

Yet, we wait.

Good thing we pay off our balances before interest accrues...or I would be irritated....

Sigh

Neither here nor there.

It's not longer global warming, it's global climate change, or as the leftists want us to believe man made climate change.

perhaps if enough climate activists were thrown into the volcano it would be satisfied and calm down
and
if that didn't work we could try politicians that support climate reparations
Great idea! But I vote for the politicians supporting climate reparations to go first. Then we can deal with the climate activists.

Our installers got all three stoves in. One was a lovely old-fashioned one with hunting scenes on it that Nightwolf bought from a friend about 10 years ago when he moved back to the US, it used to heat an entire pub, and now it is in my sitting room (the old dining room) and the other two new stoves are in my housemate's office and my bedroom. We can start using them tomorrow when the sealants dry, and they blocked off the rest of the old 18th-century chimney - the stoves are in the fireplace so you can see the old 18th-century brickwork (probably hidden for at least 100 years with a Victorian fire grate) but the heat stays in and the cats can't be stuck in the chimney (they already tried to climb it and were quite miffed!).

But the installers told us something that gets back to the topic of a potential volcanic Winter (or even just one with low supplies of energy) they said almost every stove in Ireland has now been sold out and on backorder. This is a country where normally the smaller heating coal/wood/turf stoves are stacked in every rural hardware store because they are a normal and regular product out here. There had been a crackdown on the old cooking stoves (I got a refurbished one just before COVID) for kitchens but the small ones that just stick in a fireplace and heat a room were pretty much everywhere. Now they are sold out with none expected until next year, we got the last two of the model we bought.

I also read in the UK papers this morning that the same thing is true in the UK which has a much larger population and larger markets, and has many places like rural parts of Scotland, Wales, or even Yorkshire (James Harriot Country) where people still use wood/turf/coal stove for some of their heating.

A lot of the stove-making was shipped off first to Poland and later to Chinese factories over the last few years, I do wonder if some more local production will make a comeback.

In the "Peasants refuse to Comply" category, not only are people refusing to brick up their fireplaces but the "ban" on turf is being totally ignored in the countryside. Our local farm shop can still order it wholesale and sell it openly, even though that is technically illegal; no one (not even the garda (cops) seems to care. They want to keep their homes warm too! s

Melodi, Dear Lady, what do you "see," as regards the onslaught of Winter? The resultant effects, thereof? The northern climes, initially, will suffer, then in turn, the southern climes, in their way. Is this the EOCAWKI or TEOTWAWKI?
Stay safe and well, Dear Lady...
