KEWEL!!! I could go for 'snow removal.' But I can also see others using this for nefarious purposes like on an alpha-agency member's or congress critter's homes or even gov building each time a packing plant fire breaks out or a suburb is set aflame.

Watch: Fire-breathing robot dog that can torch anything in its path

A flame-throwing robotic dog has been invented by a company in the United States that is capable of delivering “on-demand fire anywhere”.

Called the Thermonator, the remote-controlled device is for sale online priced $9,420

Designed by Ohio-based firm Throwflame, the robot is not advertised as a weapon, with the manufacturer suggesting possible uses include wildlife control, snow and ice removal and general entertainment.

It has the power to shoot 30ft jets of fire and also uses its laser sight, flashlight and light-sensitive mapping capabilities to operate at night.

Footage of the canine posted on the company’s website shows it scurrying and leaping across a variety of terrain, from woodland to snow, while shooting out streams of fire.

Weighing in at 2st 9lb, and under one square foot in diameter, the robot can be controlled remotely via Wi-Fi or bluetooth and has a battery life of up to one hour.

Similar to drones used on the battlefield in Ukraine, the first-person viewrobot provides a video feed, which enables users to control it from their phone.

"Weighing in at 2st 9lb" <<< interesting unit of measure!
British? 2stones 9pounds? 70 years ago I stood on a British scale that printed my weight in "stones"
I thought the British Empire was gone.

I heard on the radio these things sell at just under $10,000. The funding bill for the Ukraine is $60-plus billion . One-thousand of these things would cost under $10 million (I originally posted $2 million while thinking of something else). Now imagine yourself a Russian soldier hunkering down on the front line and 1,000 of these things charged your unit and started turning your comrades into crispy critters. Me, I'm pretty sure I'd throw away my gun and run like hell in the other direction!

I've been face to face with one of these things in person. UW Law School is one of the entities that is trying to decide how to assign rights to these things-can it be your service animal on an air flight. Can it be a guide for a blind person in a shopping mall, etc.

I've seen one of these things climb stairs. They say that they would be extremely useful for mountain SAR because they can traverse uneven terrain. The "trainer" said it weighs about 90 lbs. I asked if I could pick it up, but it noticed me and turned away.

I wonder if they could react(interact) with real dogs or something?

I have a 22 second video on my phone of it at the Law school. I have no idea how to post that here. If anyone gives me an email, I can send it and maybe you can post it.

"The stone or stone weight (abbreviation: st.) is an English and British imperial unit of mass equal to 14 pounds (6.35 kg)."

And...... now I feel the need to reread Fahrenheit 451.
I'm thinking more along the lines of Unintended Consequences to see where such a toy could be useful. Braken's suggested method of breaking up a riot with snipers under a bed cover in the back if a pickup could be replaced with a comedy scene, where in a half dozen or more of these "fire dogs" come running towards the rioters shooting bursts of flame before going full-on "crowd BBQ" mode.

Much chaos and hilarity as rioters try to flee over top of each other. I'm mentally hearing the soundtrack to the "Damn Bootleg Fireworks" Youtube video from a few years back. (RT = 1 min)

Essentially yes but the Tourist Trap aka The Royals are in full operation.
1 st = 14 lbs I think so 37 lbs

DO is right about Porch Pirate Defense.

Some sort of extended proximity alert would be required from your Ring or similar door camera so you could release the Hell Hound.
Other wise USPS, FedEx etc etc aren't going to deliver to your address.

I couldn’t get into that one. Nor Andromeda Strain. Some things shouldn’t be remade.

In the remake, two things jumped out at me. The women “scientists” looked like models. I never saw a pretty girl in a STEM curriculum. Also, everyone kept trying to have sex with each other rather than conquer the bug.

I’ve never seen it more than once, and the one time was just to see how badly the original was mangled.
