NEW: Rival monkey gangs are taking over a Thai tourist town, forcing police officers to arm themselves with sling-shots and tranquilizer guns.

The monkeys have taken over Lopburi which is about 90 miles from Bangkok.

One team successfully captured monkey gang leader Ai Krao who is well known for its aggressive behavior. The monkey was hauled off in a cage after being shot by the police with a sedative dart.

The monkeys are adapting and recognizing when officers have a tranquilizer gun.

"We had to hide our faces and conceal the tranquilizer guns so the monkeys wouldn't see them." said Conservation Bureau Officer Nathi Krutthaka.

The lead monkey has a name???

Meh. I guess our domestic gangs of monkeys have a leader with a name, as well.

I remember being on Gibraltar and the monkeys were complete assholes. They would jump into taxi windows if they were open and try to steal anything in your lap. If it wasn’t food they just smashed it.

So do they swarm a car and beat up the driver if one of them gets run over?

Seems I've read monkeys are sacred, there? Hmmm... more parallels to Demoncrat run cities than appeared at first!
