On those really stupid hot days, after the morning work is done, I grab a beer and the cell phone (my only internet connection), open the weather/radar app and start slowly scrolling out of midwestern Illinois....north.
I work my way through Wisconsin....the UP.....on into Canada.....slowly, slowly......working
my way up to Hudson’s Bay.....constantly paying attention to the ever falling temps.....until I’m up into the Barrens......then the Arctic circle......all the way to Alert, of Nunavut, Canada.
The temperature there always puts a smile on my face, no matter how hot or humid it gets, here.
Kind of like it’s always five o’clock, somewhere.
