From Channel 12 and Israel Hayom: Bibi will have to make a tough decision; if he goes with the hostage deal and stops the war, his government will fall; if he goes with the Rafah operation, most likely, ICC will issue the arrest warrants. Galant and IDF are for the deal; they claim that Israel can handle the Hamas at a later date. It's a crucial week for Israel

if Israel can get their hostages back. Great. Make a deal. Hamas will never keep any deal they make. The haven’t before and never will. You can’t negotiate with someone that’s hell bent on killing you.

Part of the concern is that Israel has their own far left nuts who due to the fractiousness of Israeli politics and their parliamentary system actually could end up in a government and actually arrest and deport the prior government.
Don't forget their far right neo religious crazy likud ilk that want to bomb the world into oblivion to hasten the return of their version of Messiah. And it ain't Jesus the Christ.

Yesterday I watched one of the most disturbing films of my life.

Sheryl Sandberg, former COO of Meta, made an hour-long documentary film with never-before-heard eyewitness accounts from released hostages, survivors, and first responders.

The film is certainly one of the most difficult pieces of footage I have ever watched, if not the single most difficult. Every part of the film is absolutely horrifying beyond words, but one part stood out to me like no other, and I included it here for you to watch in order to encourage you to share and watch the full film:

Amit Susanna, the first hostage to come out and in her own voice tell the world how she was sexually assaulted by her Hamas captors in Gaza, recounts the moments of her kidnapping and what she feared most.

Please, watch the full movie.

I appreciate all that. However, as I understand it, the icc can’t come get me(him) I’d have to leave Israeli territory for the warrant to be enforced. If that’s the case, if I was him, I’d do what I have to, to protect my people. I’d take the blame. To hell with public opinion. Hamas microwaved living babies. I don’t need them to look favorably upon me. I’ve lived a good life. I don’t need to leave my home country. I’d probably be dead before any trial came to be anyway.
My opinion of myself matters before any lefty liberal.

I get that; I was designed to be a wife and mother, nothing more. And anything, or anyone, who comes between me and my men or children faces certain annihilation. But my world is infinitesimally smaller than his- he’s got arguably the whole future of his country, and thousands of years of it’s past resting on his shoulders. Just for starters.

Unfortunately I’ve not done a deep enough dive into him to have any meaningful understanding of his character, likely choices or what motivates them. Heck it’s been years since I’ve even been to Israel, and since my family there has passed on- not that such things gives one any particular insight into the geopolitical realities of a nation, of course.

But yeah. My instincts are with yours; say whatever needs saying to recover whatever warm bodies remain, and in the next breath mete out retribution with a white-hot heat that burns so bright that not even a trace of the enemies shame is left to stain the earth. Then, take whatever the world doles out in response with head high and shoulders back, knowing your hands were used to deliver a just and fair reward and to remove a bit of the worlds’ blight from her visage.

Our inner moral compasses tell us that is how it should be, at least...but it's never as simple, nor easy, as it looks from our armchairs half a globe away.

Yup...

It's amazing that the truth is out there but so many leaders can't be bothered with doing the tiniest bit of research.

Do they HONESTLY think Hamas would lay down their weapons for a two-state solution?

Well... They tell you in no uncertain terms. This is Article 11 of The Hamas Charter, their founding document:

"The Islamic Resistance Movement believes that the land of Palestine is an Islamic Waqf consecrated for future Moslem generations until Judgement Day. It, or any part of it, should not be squandered: it, or any part of it, should not be given up. Neither a single Arab country nor all Arab countries, neither any king or president, nor all the kings and presidents, neither any organization nor all of them, be they Palestinian or Arab, possess the right to do that."

I don’t think western leaders are as concerned with humanitarian issues as much as they are concerned with keeping the hordes quiet on their own home front. If there were substantial Muslim rioting in every western country the backlash would be tremendous. The left would be hunted Down. The left lives for the moment. They are into their immediate gratification, not for the benefit of humanity.

You know . . . Genocide hasn’t always been abhorred universally.

It wasn’t even invented until the end of WWII. And the UN didn’t established a convention on it until 1948. Would it surprise you that the US didn’t sign on to it until 1988?

And it is clear that Palestinians are intent on genocide. Cooking a live baby in a microwave . . . Pretty classic in the domain of genocide. But apparently you can’t kill a group that wants to genocide you because . . .

I would think that so-called genocide would be the objective in all wars.

A war is not against the land or the bridges or the planes. A war is always against people. The only job in a war is to kill the people. And which 'people' are killed or harmed the most often in any war? The answer is the so-called innocents, the none-fighters. Always infrastructure is destroyed which always kills or harms all the people and it is done that way on purpose to cause the most death.
Massive numbers of deaths ends wars. When all the people are dead then no one is left to fight.

“Bombs” is kinda stretching it.

When I was deployed, we used to build and set those off all day every day until the base commander put out an order that offenders will be arrested and court-martialed.

He’s not around to see me now, setting them off occasionally for the neighborhood kids though…

They are loud and will possibly hurt you if you hold it in your hand, but that’s about it.

Blinken to visit Israel and Jordan on new Middle East trip

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit Israel and Jordan this week, the State Department announced, after the US and Israeli leaders discussed hostage-release talks.

Blinken will travel to both countries, a State Department official confirmed as the top US diplomat refuelled on Sunday in Ireland on his way to a previously announced stop in Saudi Arabia.

The trip was announced after US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke by telephone about continuing talks to halt Israel’s offensive in Gaza in return for the release of hostages.

Biden and Netanyahu speak as pressure grows on Israel over Rafah invasion

Egypt, Qatar and the United States have been trying to mediate a new truce between Israel and Hamas for months, as public pressure mounts for a deal.

Biden also reiterated concerns about Israel launching an operation in Rafah, the southern Gaza city where more than one million Palestinians have taken shelter.

The State Department did not immediately announce details of the two stops.

In a statement announcing the earlier Saudi stop, State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said Blinken will work on ceasefire efforts but added: “It is Hamas that is standing between the Palestinian people and a ceasefire.”

World leaders call for de-escalation after Iran launches air attack on Israel

World leaders call for de-escalation after Iran launches air attack on Israel

The meetings on Monday could be a final chance to persuade Israel to call off an attack on Rafah.

The White House said on Sunday that Israel has agreed to hear out its concerns. Israel has “assured us that they won’t go into Rafah until we’ve had a chance to really share our perspectives and our concerns with them,” White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby told ABC News. “So we’ll see where that goes.”

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas urged US President Joe Biden to intervene, telling a special edition of the World Economic Forum in Riyadh that the US “is the only country capable” of stopping an Israel invasion of Rafah.

Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reviewed the talks on a hostage release and a Gaza ceasefire during a call on Sunday, according to a White House statement. Biden also “reiterated his clear position” on Rafah.

A Hamas official said its delegation plans to respond to the latest Israeli truce plan on Monday, Agence France-Presse reported, offering another glimmer of hope as the Gaza conflict grinds toward the seven-month mark.

The US has urged Israel against a large-scale offensive in Rafah, which Israeli officials say is needed to crush the final stronghold of 5,000 to 8,000 fighters and key leaders from the Palestinian militant group. The small city on the coastal strip’s border with Egypt had a pre-war population of about 280,000 and is now crammed with more than a million refugees. There are fears of major civilian casualties if Israeli troops storm it. Israel has promised to move the civilians out, an uncertain process that could take weeks.

Israel has been waging a military campaign in Gaza to wipe out Hamas, which is designated as a terrorist organisation by the US, the European Union and others, since it swept across the border and attacked Israeli communities and military bases on October 7.

In war it is common to bomb or destroy symbols to demoralize the enemy troops. There are always many facets to war. Not all targets in war are military targets.
If a major player goes to war with the USA, New York City would be a likely target even though it has little military value. Just because it is a symbol.

For all the good it'd do- recall that their response has always been either "fake news" it didn't happen, or some version of "hell ya! kill cook rape dismember em all, harder faster more more more!"

-we've got to remember that some are paid actors and agitators, but a hefty number of the useful idiots at those protest are poor lil stoopid liberal kids, the lunchroom losers table cadre, desperate for a place to belong and people to accept them. That is powerful stuff, and not something that they will be easily disabused of, even with evidence from their own lying eyes.

The cognitive dissonance it would require, and ignite, in them would be epic- and probably lead to unintended consequences. Not to mention the leftist, particularly those that young who've been emersed in the toxic indoctrination programs known as formal education simply don't have the skills. Feelz and virtue signaling have replaced critical thinking.

The reality of war has been hidden from the eyes of the westerners. Too much reality might make them refuse to support the war machine and we can't have that.

TO remove the brainwashing would cause some to attempt to off themselves and other to go into a feral rage for a period of time.

I hope it's not going to prove that dire, and that they're granted the fullness of time and the opportunity to come to an awakening- slowly and gently- but I think you're right to be concerned; but :: shrug ::
- i keep turning back to that video we talked about at the end of the covid scam- something about mass psychosis in a society, how we'd get there, and why they took the steps they did in order to create it...

I can't recall if they offered a way to heal the damage, but I've been stressing the need to tell the absolute truth as one small avenue to reset the systems: to ourselves and one another. The hope is that if we recommit to being able to see it, speak it, value it, recognize and reward it we can create enough leaven for the whole lump, in reverse, so to speak. Forlorn hope, perhaps but it's my starting point.

Israel can afford to end Gaza war, complete mission vs. Hamas later on with other tactics, says defense analyst Ron Ben-Yishai via @ynetalerts; IDF already demolished much of Hamas & Islamic Jihad, he says, pointing to the following:
Much of Hamas force & infrastructure destroyed; 70% of homes in northern Gaza no longer habitable; estimated 50% of buildings in southern Gaza destroyed; Gaza faces crisis for years to come; Lebanon & Iran are watching, see destruction they could suffer too
Ending Gaza war will pave way for deal to end fighting on northern front, Ben-Yishai says; if Hezbollah refuses, IDF will launch a limited military campaign in Lebanon; Israel & US will deal with Hezbollah fully when time comes for big fight vs. Iran's nuclear project.

Still unconfirmed, but worth probing. Other potential names include Mohammad Reza Ansari, an IRGC-QF operative responsible for external operations in U.S. and Europe, or a deputy of his.

US says five Israeli units committed abuse before Hamas attack
AFP

The United States has concluded that five Israeli military units committed serious human rights violations against Palestinians in the West Bank before the Hamas attack in October, the State Department said Monday.

Four of these units have taken remedial measures, State Department deputy spokesman Vedant Patel told reporters, with consultations under way with the Israeli government over the fifth unit.

“After a careful process, we found five Israeli units responsible for individual incidents of gross violations of human rights,” Patel said.

All of this behavior took place before the October 7 Hamas attack and it was not in Gaza, he added.

Patel declined to identify the units or say what measures the Israeli government had taken against them.

Press reports have identified a battalion called the Netzah Yehuda, composed mainly of ultra-Orthodox Jews, as being accused of abuses.

US law bars the government from funding or arming foreign security forces against which there are credible allegations of human rights abuses.

The United States provides military aid to its allies around the world, including Israel.

The Israeli army has been fighting the militant Palestinian group Hamas in the Gaza Strip for almost seven months and is trading fire almost every day with Hezbollah along the border with Lebanon. Both groups are backed by Iran.

Hamas’ October attack in Israel resulted in the deaths of about 1,170 people in Israel, mostly civilians, according to an AFP tally based on Israeli official figures.

Israel’s retaliatory offensive has killed at least 34,488 people in Gaza, mostly women and children, according to the health ministry in the Hamas-run territory.
