I am still disinclined to believe any form o' nukes were actually going to be dropped on Iran- but i can see a great game being played in which one episode includes a psych op of epic proportions and involves letting traffic be heard, and stories be put into the public square, along with some concrete proof that Israel can come a knockin at the front door at any time they choose

..just to serve as a warning. And a promise.

For that matter, the Raefel "open source" specs on the ROCKS system implies that it could be used as a "bunker buster" with HE/CEM and could either defeat or compromise the hardened industrial facilites of the Iranian nuclear program without resorting to using "special munitions".

ETA: What would be an interesting bit of info would be how many aircraft in the IDF/AF are set up to be on short notice loaded with this system (as well as how many are in stock). If the interface is "simple" and most of their strike aircraft are capable of carrying it, of the smaller Rampage system, the flexability they give to the IDF/AF is immense, particularly when mixed in with LACMs and (regular) JDAMs.

Years ago there was discussion about a missile that could Impart an EMP. It involved a magnet, driven by an explosive, thru a tube surrounded by a conductor. I do not recall how it was focused downward to affect a narrow bit of territory. I though the US had it in inventory.

The United States has NNEMP weapons in its arsenal. Much of the United States' EMP research has involved high-power microwaves (HPMs) that are like super powerful microwave ovens that can generate a concentrated beam of microwave energy. In 2012, the U.S. Air Force successfully demonstrated a missile equipped with tech from the Counter-Electronics High Power Microwave Advanced Missile Project (CHAMP). An improved version of that weapon — the High-Powered Joint Electromagnetic Non-Kinetic Strike Weapon (HiJENKS) — was being tested as of 2022.

Non-nuclear EMPs can also come in the form of flux compression generator bombs (FCGs), which date back to the 1950s. This sort of EMP bomb has a fairly simple design, illustrated below. The bomb consists of a metal cylinder (called the armature), which is surrounded by a coil of wire (the stator winding). The armature cylinder is filled with high explosive, and a sturdy jacket surrounds the entire device. The stator winding and the armature cylinder are separated by empty space. The bomb also has a power source, such as a bank of capacitors, which can be connected to the stator.

Iran and its network of militias threaten to destabilize Jordan

BY JOE TRUZMAN | April 19, 2024 | @JoeTruzman

Iran has sought to leverage its militias and proxies, including Lebanese Hezbollah, to destabilize Jordan, reported the pan-Arab newspaper Asharq al-Awsat on April 16.

There are “intensive Iranian efforts to target security in the kingdom over the last few months,” an unnamed Jordanian source told Asharq al-Awsat.

Illicit smuggling by Iran-backed militias in Jordan is not the only threat facing the Hashemite Kingdom. Following Hamas’s Oct. 7 terrorist attack, Iranian-backed militias have attempted to carry out infiltration operations inside Jordan to support Palestinian terrorist groups.

“Iraqi militias loyal to Iran have tried, since last Oct. 7, to carry out infiltration operations across the Jordanian border with the goal of ‘popular mobilization’ to support the Palestinian resistance,” Asharq al-Awsat noted.

The Jordanian army thwarted the attempts when it conveyed threats to Iraqi militias active on its border with Iraq.

“However, the Jordanian army succeeded in foiling many of those attempts, directing ‘serious/credible threats’ which were delivered through official sources to bomb the Shiite masses which set up encampments for itself in the area of Trebil on the Iraqi side [of the border], which led to those militias withdrawing to a depth of more than 40 km within Iraqi borders,” Asharq al-Awsat reported.

Despite threats by the Jordanian Army, Hezbollah Brigades security official Abu al-Askary issued a warning on April 4, saying his organization can arm the “Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance in Jordan” to support Gaza. Askary added that if given the green light from Hamas and Islamic Jihad, the group would cut “off the land route that reaches the Zionist entity.”

While it may seem at first glance that Askary’s threats are solely directed towards Israel, the warning extends beyond one country. Despite the lack of an officially recognized Islamic Resistance in Jordan, the potential establishment of a militia aligned with Iran in the kingdom could have profound implications for its security. It is important to note that Iran has a well-documented history of supporting a network of clients on Israel’s borders to foment violence and create an active front against the Jewish state. A militia supported by Iran in Jordan could not only incite violence against Israel but also create a challenging geopolitical dilemma in the region. Worse yet, there is a risk the militia could eventually turn its weapons against the kingdom.

The Iranians were informed that there would be Israeli activity via two regional channels carrying a message from the US.

Then the US (BIDEN's US) has officially declared itself a traitor to its ally and an enemy of Israel.
Why should American’s be the only one’s who suffer from these traitors?

Welcome to the party, although I am pretty sure Bibi already knew, maybe just not how bad things have gotten with democrats in charge.

Unless the impact cracked the "pit(s)" in the missile, the site won't be hot.

Airedales REGULARLY handle nuke missiles and bombs and use no "special" "PPE" to do so.

Missiles are built to withstand a LOT without cracking or breaking the radioactive "pits".
Yes.

It wasn't a shoot down, but the 1966 crash of the B-52 in Palomares, Spain, is a good case study of the varying outcomes that can potentially be expected when a nuclear-armed plane goes down. Some stayed completely intact and emitted no radiation while the core was compromised on others and they essentially acted as "dirty bombs" and contaminated the area.

For the above post:

I've often wondered, and have discussed with a bro of mine a couple times, about WHO has a mini type emp that will be launched against a foe when when full scale war breaks out, that flies over the opponent's air space and fries the electronics on missiles,, AA Defense, and aircraft, then another, and another............. Including nuclear ballistic missiles.
That’s why they’re hardened. Like our NukAlerts.

Pretty much sums things up. I hope the Iranians never find him.
For all we know he was flying the Ghost of Kiev two years ago.
I don't believe any of the current crap fest of information, (I may pay credence to some of it    for a day or two).
With Russia Russia Russia, Jan6, 2 yrs of lies about Russia fighting with WWII tanks, to Covid,
nah, I think I'll take some time to absord new claims,

this one I didn't believe on the face of it, or at least had strong doubts; him spouting off like that in a country of religious fanatics that would be a death sentence. Could be true but I have my doubts.

A reliable source informed us, though it's not yet verified: #Hamas has proposed to #Turkey that its leaders are willing to relocate to Istanbul, relinquish all heavy weapons to a third party—not #Israel—and transform into a purely political party, conditional on Israel leaving #Gaza and the West Bank fully and forever. This shows Hamas has lost; therefore, the pressure should continue until their complete elimination. This would mark a victory for Israel against the Muslim Brotherhood.

Following nearly six months of silence, the mostly defunct Lions' Den issued a statement calling for Palestinians to mobilize against Israel. They also called for its supporters to go out to the rooftops in the early morning hours and shout God is the greatest.

And that is the missing puzzle piece for Ezekiel 38 - Turkey was missing siding with China/Russia/Iran. They are/were allies with Israel, but scripture says they are on the side of Gog/Magog. Never made sense.....until now.

And finally someone has been authorised to issue some high resolution imagery of the Tombstone Radar at the S300 deployment.
One of the TELs that was removed after the drone strike has been repositioned back, wonder where the other is.
This still isn’t the imagery I hoped to be released btw, this is from yesterday (20th) there is higher resolution from the 19th which shows fire suppression ingress into the mound sand

The IDF is training for a possible takeover of the "Freedom Flotilla 2" which is planned to sail from Turkey to the shores of Gaza within days "to break the siege on the Gaza Strip."

If that gets done in international waters it will become quite the body count. Though I have to wonder if they destroy most of the worlds small vessels how that will affect shipping abilities internationally if this is but one of many flotillas to come.

Not as big a mystery as one might initially think. Not doing a Bible Study if anyone thinks that, but historically, Turkey and the Ottoman Empire have always been against Israel. Played a big part in the Crusades.

What makes it a mystery is Turkey becoming a part of NATO. Which in reality is in name only. No one other than the US wanted them in NATO really. And the US wanted them in, due to the proximity to Russia. Missile and airports to be housed.

Turkey wanted in to acquire modern war machines. Wasn't going to get that from anyone other than the US. Note Ukraine.

Russia, in testimony before Congress, it was stated is now the largest Army in Europe. And when the big dog joins the fight, countries that have been hesitant, Iran, Turkey won't, the big dog is with them, against a puny US. No brainer, go for it. Turkey to reestablish the Ottoman Empire and Iran to reestablish the Persian Empire.

US To Sanction Entire IDF Battalion Over Alleged Human Rights Abuses

Axios is reporting what marks an unexpected and unprecedented development in US-Israel relations: the Biden administration will in the coming days announce sanctions against an entire battalion of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Three US officials told the outlet that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will unveil the punitive measures against the IDF’s "Netzah Yehuda" battalion for its allegedly committing human rights abuses against Palestinians in the West Bank. It is an ultra orthodox brigade founded in 1999 in coordination with rabbis who sought to allow easier entry into the military of a religious community which typically rejects national service.

The controversial battalion has also served in Gaza Strip operations, as well as in the north of Israel. The Times of Israel has highlighted, "The battalion has been at the center of several controversies in the past connected to right-wing extremism and violence against Palestinians, notably including the 2022 death of Omar As’ad, a 78-year-old Palestinian-American who died after being detained, handcuffed, blindfolded, and later abandoned in near-freezing conditions by soldiers of the battalion."

Blinken on Friday appeared to confirm that the sanctions are imminent. "You can expect to see them in the days ahead," Blinken said in response to a question about potential Leahy law violations. The 1997 law bans the possibility of US foreign aid or DOD training programs going to foreign entities found to have committed human rights abuses.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu immediately blasted the coming US move in a Saturday message on X, writing:

"The IDF must not be sanctioned!" he wrote on X. "I’ve been working in recent weeks against the sanctioning of Israeli citizens, including in my conversations with the American administration."
"At a time when our soldiers are fighting terrorist monsters, the intention to issue sanctions against a unit in the IDF is the height of absurdity and a moral low," he added, committing to fight the move."
President Biden is under immense and growing pressure going into November, as many Democrats are increasingly outraged at the soaring civilian death toll and near daily headlines of atrocities among families in Gaza. Yet all along he's resisted so much as attaching conditions to defense aid, and is reportedly even considering another $1BN+ weapons package for Tel Aviv.

According to Axios, "The sanctions will ban the battalion and its members from receiving any kind of U.S. military assistance or training, the sources said."

Other controversial police or military units which have long been accused of human rights violations are said by the US administration to have lately changed their behavior, and so none others will target of the new sanctions, Axios notes. According to more background on the Netzah Yehuda battalion:

Over the years, the unit stationed in the West Bank became a destination for many "Hilltop Youth" — young radical right wing settlers who weren't accepted into any other combat unit in the IDF.
On Friday the US slapped a new round of sanctions on Israel's radical settler movement, this time targeting a pair of entities accused of fundraising for already sanctioned individuals.

"The Biden administration on Friday imposed sanctions on two entities accused of fundraising for extremist Israel settlers already sanctioned, as well as the founder of an organization whose members regularly assault Palestinians," Associated Press reported Friday.

Violence in the West Bank is at a high point as Israeli forces have been conducting large-scale raids, also in the wake of the murder of 14-year-old Israeli Binyamin Achimair. This weekend, 14 Palestinians have been reported killed after an Israeli security raid on Nur Shams refugee camp in the West Bank.

Show me a single military which has engaged in war in the past 120 years who doesn't have more than one instance of human rights abuse to claim credit for. Not saying it is justified, but it happens widely. But I agree with Alfaman: it is pointless. What are we going to do, refuse to ship kosher MREs over to help?

RR

It's always about the details of the situation. And while I am against human rights abuses, whether war or not, without the details of the incident/s, it's hard to believe anything the commies in D.C. say.

Because just about everything they say, has the opposite or different meaning.

Sanctioning a single unit? It's pointless; much like our entire current communist government.
Oh, their is a point to there madness. (D.C. commies)
seems like a bit of political theatre to me

So wait, let's see if I have this concept

IDF unit commits "humanitarian abuse stuffs" and the US is sanctioning them. Have they been found guilty? Have they been tried? I have no idea of the process, but if the USA is accusing a group of crimes then does innocent till proven guilty stand? No idea about this.

The USA sends aid trucks into gaza and is trying to build a "port" directly into gaza for direct aid. Hamas steals the aid and kills anyone trying to get it. Isn't that a "humanitarian crisis and rights" abuse?

Perhaps I need more indoctrination.

what hostages?

News stories about a week & and half ago (before Iran attacked Israel) said that Israel asked for the return of the still-missing (either 40 or 70--I forget now) hostages and Hamas replied, "We don't have that many hostages."

Of course they don't.

Because they are ALL dead.

Report: Israel used air-to-surface missile called ‘The Rampage’ in Iran attack
By ToI Staff Today, 5:30 am

Illustrative: An Israeli F-16 fighter jet fires a 'Rampage' air-to-ground rocket in an undated photograph. (Israeli Military Industries Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries)

The missile used in the alleged Israeli attack on a military base near the Iranian city of Isfahan overnight Thursday-Friday was a locally-developed air-to-surface missile dubbed The Rampage, according to a Hebrew media report.

The Kan broadcaster reports that The Rampage was identified from photos and also matches the extent of the damage caused in the attack.

The 4.7-meter (15-foot) rocket can also travel at supersonic speed, making it difficult to detect and intercept using air defense systems such as the Iron Dome.

Israel has not officially commented on the strike, while Iran has downplayed the incident and insisted that only three small drones — and no missiles — were involved in the attack on Isfahan.

The Rampage, which weighs over half a ton and was unveiled in 2018, was designed to penetrate into and destroy protected areas, like bunkers, according to its manufacturers, Israeli Military Industries Systems and Israel Aerospace Industries.

The Kan report comes hours after The New York Times said that the alleged Israeli strike on Iranian air defenses near the Natanz nuclear site had used a high-tech missile that was able to evade Iran’s radar systems.

The report cited officials as saying that the move was “calibrated to make Iran think twice” before launching another direct attack on Israel.
