The one thing I wish the press would report more is that many parts of the city have been experiencing chronic water shortages for the past few months. In particular, poor neighborhoods had NO tap water for extended periods of time. This is well known among the local journalists (of which my husband is one) but it’s not making it’s way into the U.S. press.

Think that might affect handwashing or general hygiene of people and places?
