Veterans, first-responders, and civilians with PTSD or post traumatic stress disorder also known as OSI (operational stress injury) leads to suicide, depression, anxiety, drug abuse and anti-social behavior. There is growing evidence that the pharmacological therapies are not working and contribute to worsening of symptoms for veterans with PTSD.

A group of veterans in Canada have developed a program based upon cannabis use and holistic medicine coupled under the supervision of physicians and health care professionals are mounting a strong body of evidence each day for the successful treatment of PTSD symptoms using cannabis therapy.

It isn't for everyone. Clearly there needs to be progression in the study of medicine to find better solutions for the men and women that serve their country. Please show your support by sharing this video.

For more information or to reach out to an MFT representative please send an email to Info@MFTGroup.ca

At this point, our support extends to the veterans paving way for such studies and treatments to continue to be developed. Thank you for watching. We appreciate your support of our veterans.

I have no problem with it if it helps and can be shown to work without causing other problems.

Have you seen the treatment for PTSD that utilized video games where the game simulates some of the situation that currently cause stress episodes and allows the user to control the game for a good outcome. It basically desensitizes PTSD victims to the triggers that cause their bad episodes.

We owe the best treatments available for those who risked everything for their country.

Terry, your game sim works best if they are using Beta Blockers (Atenolol etc) while doing the sim. A LOT of interesting work taking my Mitchel Model Debriefing training down a peg or 5....

IF you get a chance, ND, could you please point me in the direction of finding more on this?

BTW, people are largely unaware that untreated long enough PTSD brings about changes not only to brain function but to the actual physiology of the brain. E.g., the corpus callosum (mid-brain) gets thinner as if aging several decades faster...FINALLY, there are starting to be interventions that seem to be effective at preventing or at least mitigating this very real but "invisible" damage.

ahm,,

There...Understand your position.
Have you tried the EMDR? Non invasive, no pharmaceuticals, no shrinks.
It is an eye movement self training that, for SOME folks in the situation, helps a LOT.
My bride says it helped her as much as any of the cognitive approaches (talking things out, etc)...

=======================================================================================

Ladies and gents, PTSD and CISM (Critical Incident Stress Management--the front end of PTSD treatment if done right) ain't just for Green Suited Warriors. SERIOUSLY.
Firefighters,
EMT(-A, -I, -P)
First Responders
Law Enforcement Officers
LISW's
ARC Responders

ALL of the above are at risk for a Critical Incident and then PTSD if the Critical Incident isn't handles with alacrity and CARE!

I was a firemen, I just try not to think a lot, it helps. I have calls that I purposely don't and won't remember.

There is a group I am part of, http://www.safeaccessnow.org/

I donate a lot of med to the ptsd warrior program. I am not here to push anything. But it's helped me, the cannabis. It has helped hundreds of others suffering far worse than me. People are getting their lives back, the soldiers, with this treatment protocol. It makes no sense to poopoo something without ever trying it. And smoking a few jays' will not get you through this. Low doses of thc, high dose of cbd, cbn, cbg coupled with coconut oil,,,that is what works.

Look up the organization, there is help out there that works.

This trouble with bad things that happened isn't something new.

Just back in the day men just did what men do and dealt with it. Yup, some ate a gun barrel.

Getting stoned on pot isn't gonna hurt, might not help, but not gonna hurt.

Some folk never make it back, most do.

Giving pity parties doesn't do much good. Leaving folk alone and giving them time is the best medicine. But between busy bodies and big bro and lawyers, things get extended, complicated and made harder.

either way people should have the right to treat it as they see fit

some folks like our friend above want nothing altering to work thru

some others do

all should be free to find what does work the best for them and be free to use it

that said you are really stacking the deck against gun ownership w/ that combo and that would have to be part of the mental equation for me

Reading some responses I think folks did not see that they were not getting high.

This smoking involved CBD intake and not going for the THC "high". Although in some cases the THC high does help along with learning coping skills. There is even ongoing research with using DMT (a schedule 1 drug) with coping therapy that is showing results. The end goal in all these are not to slap a bandaid on the problem but to solve it. In some cases that never happens.

Long term, if someone needs cannabis forever that is far better than SSRIs or other crippeling drugs big pharma comes out with.

It is a quality of life issue.
