GUNS/RLTD Pressure Washer to Flamethrower

Yeah like the topic says.

What would be involved in turning a gasoline powered pressure washer into a gasoline mixed with diesel flamethrower? I know I would have to go a 0degree tip. I'm not sure the standard hose will handle solvents such as a gas/diesel mix..

Also what substance would be as good as a gas/oil mix to get the result of running off dedicated party goers that were not invited and want all youe chocolate.

Think of use in defending a fixed location. But still a unit that can be repositioned a block or many miles to another location.

Creative folks here so I though of coming up with creative solution.
This is just a mind game. Tap your inner McGyver.

Not the right pump, you want more volume and less pressure, bigger zero nozzle.

More like the rigs that spray the top of trees.

ETA: that is not even touching on having the right seals and O-rings, ignition and a whole gob of other things that will keep you from being bar b que.

No disrespect intended RCSAR, but this sounds like an impractical doomer porn fantasy. First, it's probably going to be illegal as hell. I've read people claiming that flamethrowers were legal in various areas because there was no specific prohibition on them. What they fail to realize is that many weapons laws are written to be intentionally vague and give cops the greatest leeway in enforcement. Hence, you'll see various terms such as "infernal devices," or "dangerous gadgets," etc. There are soooooo many things that can go legally wrong here - including the various arson and fire laws - that I can't see this as being legally practical. Yes, I know...post-SHTF people think there won't be any laws enforced. I think the higher profile infractions will be enforced at the expense of the lesser. Few things get higher profile than flaming criminals, vehicles, forest fires and unintentionally burned down residences.

Secondly, pumping flammable liquids is dangerous business. A lot of sophisticated non-sparking engineering goes into things like gasoline and propane pumps. Additionally, seals, hoses and gaskets must be resistant to the solvents being transferred.

Lastly, you have to be aware of incompatible gasses. For your purposes we're basically talking about air and air under pressure is extremely dangerous in the presence of hydrocarbons. A lot of people are not aware that gasoline and oxygen spontaneously combust and explode. Because of its oxygen content, air at roughly 75 PSI absolute pressure represents a partial pressure equivalent of pure 02. This is not good... Military flamethrowers - as far as I know - are pressurized with inert gasses, not air. I know it's not especially spectacular, but think about just using a 12 gauge pump or an AK on the bad guys. If you really need to exorcize (or exercise) your inner pyro, set 'em on fire after the battle ;-)

Best regards

As one who use to repair and service them (USMC), they are extremely dangerous to use.
The air bottle is usually 2,000 PSI and the fuel tanks hold 4.5 gals with a pressure of 400 PSI.
I suggest molitoff (sp?) cocktails instead.

"Rocket relatives" ... set your relatives on fire and hope when they run around screaming they'll set the attackers on fire. (Suggested by the recent "rocket cats" thread.)

The thought came to me when I was watching the neighbor with his pressure washer with a 0 degree tip. He was getting the flaking paint off his eaves before he scraped it. Of course my first thought was "thats a cool super soaker".

As I continued to watch the thought of "what else could that pump?" crossed my mind.
What used to follow was "hold my beer and watch this!".
Being tired I just thought of the possibilities. Being portable to a point I though it might be mountable in a pickup. THEN the thought of flamable liquid dispenser crossed my mind. (idle hands and all that you know)

So I was just wondering if anyone went down this thought road before and if it was useful or fun.

I'm still pondering my dynamite/spud gun launcher.

There is actually a book online that describes building a flamethrower out of the wand of a pressure washer and a soda tank. I love flamethrowers. Been fascinated with them ever since seeing pics and videos of them being used in the Pacific in WWII. That said I tihnk they would have very limited use in a TEOWAWKI. Fuels are going to scarce quickly and how do you contain/ extinguish the fire once you start it. I feel the same about Molotovs. It would suck to stop the attack only to have the resulting fire burn down your house.
