What a mess. He's going after the gun dealers selling guns to criminals. (We know that criminals rarely buy them legally.) Mainly from outside high crime cities and states. He says the reason gun control isn't working there is criminals are getting them from "bad" dealers.

He's going after an assault weapons and high capacity magazines.

He quoted community programs from high crime cities which worked so well. Has he looked at the rates of crime there?

He wants the US to pay for them (community programs), provide more police, and more community policing, more anti-crime programs. Money will come from the American Rescue program (covid.) Wasn't the .gov saying the Delta variant is coming to kill us all if we aren't vaccinated - then we will need that money for covid. Unless we really don't.

He lied. He read his speech from the teleprompter with no enthusiasm, like he was reading the newspaper. He stuttered, had trouble with either his eyes or his mouth. He contradicted himself, lied some more with the aid of "statistics" and has absolutely no idea what the hell he's talking about.

What did you guys hear, before you trashed the TV?

All in all, it ought to be interesting to watch the second amendment sanctuary states as they confront this proposal.

At the beginning of this year, four states — Alaska, Idaho, Kansas and Wyoming – had already declared themselves Second Amendment sanctuaries.

Then just last month, another six states enacted GOA-backed legislation to do the same: Arkansas, Arizona, Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma and West Virginia.

Not only that, but as all this was going on, the governor of an eleventh state, Nebraska, made a proclamation to the same effect.

And more recently the Texas legislature passed, and Governor Greg Abbott is certain to sign, a Lone Star State sanctuary bill.

Notice that sanctuary legislation brings states more in line with the U.S. Constitution, which declares that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

As opposed to protecting illegal behavior, these sanctuaries protect Americans from the illegal acts of the government.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The state Senate has passed a bill that would prohibit police in Wisconsin from enforcing any future federal laws banning or restricting the use of guns.

The proposal is part of a national wave of similar Republican-backed legislation intended to resist new gun control measures.

I would like to call BS on this whole administration and think the country would stand up for their rights, but..... I remember in school reading (might be wrong percentages but the point is there) during hte revolutionary war, only about 3% of the population at that time was involved in the war while about 30% were actively supporting the british - seriously WTF? We won but only by the grace of God. We could've just as easily be doing tea and crumpets instead of beer and hot dogs. Point is, I dont think most people care about most of our rights. As long as they have beer and football, nothing else matters. Very depressing.

Seriously. Manchin may vote against him also?

As it was then, Now it is the only way this will happen as well.
God is good ALL of the time.
I pray Creator will cause the majority of us to awaken sufficiently to hear the clarion call of the GRACE OF GOD and this will turn out to be the answer of all of our prayers, those of us that pray to GOD, to deliver us from the evil of those among us that pray to satan. (so horrible that spell check wants me to capitalize satan, I will not!)

Oh, he also wanted to make gun manufacturers liable. I presume he wants to allow them to be sued if a gun they manufactured was used in a crime.

I wonder if he'll allow the same legislation for cars, and knives, and bats, and bicycles, and stairs . . . .
