I'm getting disgusted with so many youtube channels spending most of the time on a video hawking the prep things they are affiliates on, after saying how awful things are getting and you better hurry up and buy my stuff.
Thanks for the comment and welcome to TB. I agree with your comments. It's like most things. It evolved from an information stream, to a revenue stream. When they do, and they all eventually do, they lose the reason I subbed in the first place. Secondarily, the evolution of YouTube and their "policies" has been driving off a great deal of the content I was interested in.
There are a couple channels I give my attention to, that show what works for them, and openly state that this is why I like "widget brand x", but follow that up every time with do your own research, and get what works for you, whether in performance or budget. One in particular also makes sure that his message is informational and positive, rather than "prepper doom porn" as he calls it. Time will tell if he survives the profit march. Other channels get a bit dramatic, even if they aren't specifically hawking wares.
He's the one that prompted my comment, he had a whole video pushing his freeze dried foods. But I still listen to him, I love his cats.Prepper Nurse 1 is pretty good. Down to earth and his videos are always full of his dogs, cats and chickens. He does sell freeze dried and gets a commission but doesn’t push the goods.
Ive only watched him for a few weeks. Only thing I’ve heard is that his supplier is running behind. I haven’t felt pressure to buy his stuff. He is an enjoyable watch. He's the one that prompted my comment, he had a whole video pushing his freeze dried foods. But I still listen to him, I love his cats.
I really don't mind a video here and there pushing something they can make money from, but some of these guys are pushing harder than the guy selling crack on the corner....He's the one that prompted my comment, he had a whole video pushing his freeze dried foods.
