PREP Preppers depicted as "Whack Jobs" on 3/18/13 Bones show

Did anyone notice the derogatory way the show Bones dealt with preppers.

They mentioned doomsday preppers and then multiple times referred to them as whack jobs.

The characters were depicted as unstable, like one gal that does not bath.

There was a scene where they were in a survival bunker and the Fibbies located and blew the entrance of the bunker.

Are we being setup to where this will be a common scene across America?

Are there more Ruby Ridge setups coming?

"Bones" is just about the most unwatchable of the "Procedural" shows. The characters are utterly two-dimensional, incapable of growing, and otherwise unbelievable, and the plots are horribly formulaic.

"Castle" is somewhat better, since the actors are more interesting to watch, even though it's almost more formulaic than "Bones" and the characterizations are almost as two-dimensional and unrealistic. Frankly though, there are very few network shows I can tolerate. Even "Supernatural" is getting a little hard to stay with, now that the "boys" apparently don't seem to have to worry about getting caught for impersonating FBI officers or breaking into places anymore.

I mostly watch the History channel, one of the Discovery channels, or sometimes NatGeo, because they have real-world interesting things.

Neither here nor there.

this is because the writers writing this junk are liberal moonbats that are two dimensional, medicated, and are incapable of growth.

Yes I watched that show and saw what you talk of.

Did you also noticed at the end he wanted to buy some survival stuff and she did not, I thought that was cool as he was going to by it any way know matter what she said.

And I love bones, that ncis and big bang is about all I watch now.

I saw the show and was troubled by the way they dismissed the preppers as "whack jobs." Even Sweets, the show's psychologist who usually refuses to label people, readily agreed they were whack jobs. The prepper characters themselves were all exaggerations of stereotypes. Of course, one of them was the murderer, giving the motive that she did not want to have to live with the overbearing, annoying victim after the collapse. Even at the very end of the show, where Booth was trying to convince Bones that minor prepping was a good idea, she dismissed the idea as foolish. I was insulted but figure they will have a change in attitude before long.

When you consider that AMC is getting some of the highest ratings with Walking Dead and add that to Doomsday Preppers on Nat Geo also getting HUGE ratings, all a stupid show like Bones is doing is alienating a gigantic cross section of new preppers in America. They probably lost viewship pulling that stunt as they should. Maybe they will even cancel the shows. Sounds like professional suicide to alienate preppers these days, too many people are waking up.

My favorite show is Duck Dynasty but there are so many reruns reruns reruns I've tuned myself in to watching Yukon men great show not as easy as it looks to going to live in the wild. I also have been getting into the fairly new show combat rescue. Ha if you thing its all about flying on a chopper and saving lives. Find the AirForce website or look at the schools Para Jumpers have to go through. You will be surprised at the cross training these men go through. Watched them do a crik last night.

When you pay for cable/satellite service, you are supporting the propaganda machine and the amorality machine with your money, whether you watch it or not.

When you use an antenna to watch the main networks and view their commericals, you are supporting the propaganda and amorality machine.

When you watch TV at all, you are submitting to mind programming. With digital signal, all sorts of subliminal stuff can be snuck in.

How many movies do we see where a black female is in charge of a bunch of white male hard asses? Or movies where black males are the authority figure, the grizzled gunny sergeant, the hard charging general?

Or how many of those blasted commercials can you see that portray mixed race relationships as normal (always a white woman with a black.mulatto man), or how many shows and commercials portray white men as idiots and portray them being shown up by the wisdom of children, women and minorities?

To hell with that.

Ever notice how people who give up TV seem happier and more informed/aware? That they seem to care less about possessions and materialism in general?

There is a reason for that.

If you're really interested in knowing, check out Edward Bernays. He's the father of modern advertising and propaganda.

The entire media complex in this country is corrupt, controlled by a narrow spectrum of corporate entities, and oddly enough the leadership of those entities have very little diversity. Yet that lack of diversity is never discussed. Even broaching the topic equates to Nazism, anti-semitism and holocaust denial, such is the programming and the state of political correctness in this country.

We can not call a spade a spade without risking our careers and social standing.
We can not acknowledge how one ethnic group dominates government, media, and the financial industry. No way no how. I'll probably get flamed for even mentioning here as the PC virus seems to have infected almost everyone in this country.

What's the primary means for transmitting this thought virus and others as well? If you guessed television programming you'd be mostly correct.

Then look around you and notice how TVs are everywhere now. Restaurants, bars, gas stations, health clubs, just about everywhere, constantly blaring. And when you look around lots of folks are staring at them in between looking at their ELCDs (electronic life control devices aka smartphones). To me they appear to be like deer caught in the headlights, transfixed and hypnotized, unable to think or move to protect themselves from the danger expressed by those headlights.

Again, certain 'sacred truths' in this society MUST NOT BE QUESTIONED.

We are screwed six ways to Sunday.

I have never watched Bones and probably never will. We watch the History Channel and Discovery the most. The only time I watch MSM is for Foot Ball.

God has a plan, Trust it!
I dont really care what they call me. Truth is truth and when the time comes, their words are going to echo in their heads with tons of "I shoulda's".

I'll just keep quiet. They don't know I am what I am, they dont know that they are describing me. But they know the concept and when they are bent over with hunger, or taken out by roving bands of punks, they will reflect on the concept and figure out that it wasn't all that whacky after all.

So let the liberals say what they want to say and think what they want to think. No skin off my nose and less competition for getting what I need at a good price. I'll just chalk it up to entertainment and giggle when they say it, knowing full well what is coming and what they are in for.

It is the ones that don't laugh or make fun of, but for whatever reason, something is holding them back from doing that I feel sorry for. They put their stock in what others think about them more than providing for their family. They would rather blend in with the Joneses, than to make sure their family survives after the Joneses are dead.

The agenda serves two purposes-it makes preppers scary folks to be avoided at all costs because they're crazy and capable of anything, and it keeps any who would otherwise be proactive if they had the truth from prepping.

They want everyone dead-propaganda makes that goal a lot easier.

Goodness before greatness.
I was a bit late to the Doomsday Prepper show on NG and TV in general. I prefer talk radio and listening to shortwave stations; but I do find some of the Prepper's approach to being prepared fascinating and informative. In general, I find most of the gun play and Rambo drills with the kid's a bit silly, but there have been a few really well trained people who were passing their knowledge down with the program.

I guess I've probably watched a season of Prepper's and I'm still looking for one that takes on all the potential aspects of water treatment including the problems associated with handling of larger volumes that in every day use could pass on pathogens, virus, or bacteria that might require more help than chlorine - bleach.

I have yet to see one Big Berkey, Katadyn, or any other large processing type system even though some on the show have very decent tanks, catchment systems, ponds, streams, swimming pools, wells, and artesian springs. Everyone seems to address the water problem with a temporary use water straw.

In regards to kooky things Prepper's have done on the show; I would have to say the guy in Hawaii drinking urine takes the cake! For Pete's sake he's not on a life raft. Did the guy every hear of a canteen or a Camelbak water bladder and at least a personal sized pump/filter? If he has to roll au-natural a hollowed out nut shell would do. The revealing part of that episode was the grimace in disbelief look his girlfriend exposed to the camera as he 'partook' of his beverage; then the three month further on revisit snippet where they should this same male Prepper less the girlfriend hiking with a less peaceful tone of voice alone with his dog.

Moral of the story...

Friends don't let friends go into the wilds without a water-plan, and girls like Klean Canteens!

Guys are watching "Bones" for the PLOT?! Whatever else they are, the Deschanel gals (Emily and Zooey) are easy on the eyes (at least, on my eyes). There must be some good genetics in that family!
