Prepper Medical Stuff – Ongoing Sale

Owing entirely too recent events overseas, and threats against the continental USA concomitant with same, I have asked Admin permission to make a running thread offering what I can of medical supplies, gear and whatnot that may be of interest to preppers. The thread title will be updated when I update the thread with any new listings so you know there is something you may wish to look at vs. any last visit.

I have been busy the past 5 days; just happy – more or less - that we didn’t have a show booked this last week-end. I needed the time to make arrangements as it were given the changes in the world of late.

I have mentioned over the past year + that availability of some things was compromised by Ukraine in particular, and prices have been rising thanks to Joe and Co. Since Saturday I have tried ordering new stock of some things, and am focusing on anything manufactured in Israel. This week I got a real revelation.

Israeli Bandages, the best battle dressing on the market, and I say that without apology, come from… yeah, you know it. Last year Persys Medical, the US component of the company that manufactures them, was ordering a 40 foot Conex box every month filled with assorted items, and they were trying to get that upped to another 20 foot Conex each month to try to catch up to demand. That was because of Ukraine. This was one year ago this month that I spoke with them. At the time they were being merged with the umbrella company that bought them out, Safeguard Medical out of England.

I placed an order for the primary Israeli bandages that I use in my bags. Literally every bag I sell that is not GI surplus uses one of the Persys (Israeli) products, as many as 14 items for one bag. I timed the submission so that it would be on their order screen when they opened for business on Monday. Well, they decided to keep Post Office hours and observe the holiday. So I got my response Tuesday, after which I upped my order for one more case of the model I want to make standard for my active shooter bags. That was Tuesday; it took until after noon Thursday to get confirmation, along with a current distributor’s price list. Guess what. They raised prices June 1st. All they said was 'sorry for the delayed response.'

Black (tactical color, don-cha-know) 6” bandages were quoted to me at 31% higher than my last order for same. French surrender white color models are unchanged as far as price, so far. This was out of the blue with no new distributor price list made available.

I have not been kidding when I have mentioned cost increases in the past year but that one really caught me off-guard. My retail mark-up isn’t near that high and there is no way I can absorb that.

My preferred brand for ordinary (non-absorbable) suture happens to be made in …. Yep. I have an order last seen in Tel Aviv as I type this. I am guessing it won’t be coming air freight because they anticipate delivery date to be around Dec. 1st now. It used to take no more than 10 days max.

I have been developing some new products of late in response to potential customer requests. Church emergency bags, active shooter bags (closely related), a better grade field surgery kit that is still economical, a discrete tourniquet kit for everyday carry, and more.

On the drawing board yet are S.T.O.M.P.-type builds, large family retreat level medical GOOD bags, a decent dental set and more.

Some of these items will be very limited as to quantity. Others will be available as ongoing for the foreseeable future (assuming I can still get the supplies, as noted above).

I have always made a point of trying to offer the membership a deal on things where I can. I usually include the postage charges in the listed price to simplify things, and it likely will still be less than my table price at shows.

I know that if you can access the Sales and Swaps forum that you are a registered member and not just Jimmy the Lurker peeking in the window for a cheap thrill. As such (not you, Jimmy) you can PM me for further contact info. The web site is very much a work in progress and I’ll leave it at that.

Minor bump in order to inform folks:

I am now out of the Basic Field Surgery Kit. I have less capable (and less expensive) kits yet, as well as more capable (and more expensive) in stock. I will be building more of the Basic kits yet this week, I hope. The new kits will have the Sklar Economy (floor grade) forceps rather than the Sklar German manufacture I was substituting temporarily just to get these out.

My Israeli bandages made it Monday already, so I am good for a while. How long though? I cannot forecast presently as this new demand is, well, new. They come fromout of SC, but originate in Israel, needless to say. Future shipments may be delayed because they come in 40 foot Conex boxes. IOW not air freight. Any damage to ports may affect things badly. I believe I mentioned previously they sidelined me with a 31% wholesale price increase on one model. That hurts.

My sutures ordered on the 9th were seen in Tel Aviv on the 11th. They arrived in NY yesterday and are now in Queens. I should have risked a larger order.

I will personally vouch for RR. Bought a couple of his kits at the Des Moines gun show a couple years ago. Also took his Stop the Bleed class and got his book. Top notch kits, top notch info.

I am in no way shilling for RR, that gun show was the only time I've met him, but my impression was solid guy, straight shooter, and very knowledgeable. His FREE Stop the Bleed course was fantastic.
