This too shall pass.
I just wanted to give a warning -- we've discussed before whether or not the 'new' pop-top cans were suitable for food storage; I do not think they are. I've had several cans open with a POP -- a release of pressure -- lately. They were not damaged, showed no swelling, had no rust or holes in them, and in most cases were new or fairly new. I just opened a can of soup that I had purchased only a few days ago which did this. None of them have been exposed to temperature extremes. I am not positive that we would get sick from just heating the soup up before eating, but to be safe, I'm thoroughly cooking it.
If possible, get the old-fashioned cans for your long-term food storage.
