POL Poor People and Redistribution of Wealth - RANT

TB Fanatic
You will always have poor people, at issue is what as a Government are you doing to lift them up?

Are programs of entitlement helping elevate and motivate poor people to improve their lot in life?

Isn't a redistribution of wealth going to reduce the wealth of a whole host of people who are more productive in society (hence the more wealth)?

Won't a redistribution of wealth be a temporary reprieve for those who are not motiviated enough on their own to seek to improve their life by getting more education and developing a better work ethic, only to go back to their previous economic levels because the people that you took it away from now have less incentives to produce so they make less and there is ultimately less to redistribute.

In essence, you took a large percentage of the "middle class" and made them poor, creating even larger numbers who are dependent on the Government TEAT!

Maybe that is the whole goal of this "Redistribution", create ever increasing populous numbers that can't escape the paradigm created for them keeping them poor and dependent.

This Health Care Bill is going to create more costly, lesser coverage Health Care for a Majority of Americans so a few more (not all) American's can gain coverage. It would be a lot cheaper to just address and pay for the American's who don't have coverage. Instead, the current plan is to nudge and move toward a Government Run Health Care plan, hence feeding the dependency.

The Crap and Trade bill will do NOTHING for the environment. It represents a Redistribution of Wealth and a tax. Here is the irony, it is a tax on EVERYONE that uses energy, including poor people. Here the leftist liberal agenda starts to fall apart as the very people that are supposed to be helping are going to suffer. Combine that with both the Health Care and the Cap And Trade bills are going to greatly increase unemployment with score of small businesses closing their doors, so the poor people will have Health Care at an ever increasing cost to US Tax Payers but they won't have jobs to pay for the increase in Energy Cost use or food.

Hmmmm, maybe the liberal leftist agenda is really NOT about the people.

What would the American People rather have?

1) An increased number of poor people dependent on the Government with the Government controlling almost every aspect of our lives?

2) A model that continues to encourage the hard work ethic, the "land of opportunity", not entitlement, a lesser role of the Government in our lives?

I know what I want and that is the least amount of Government possible.

Don't forget- dotgov gets at least a 40% cut of all the money it 'redistributes' to the 'poor.'
