PRYR RQST Please Pray for Granddaughter with Type-A Flu

My granddaughter (Addyson) woke up Monday morning with a high fever. My daughter took Addyson to see a doctor. She tested positive for Type A-Flu. Her fever last night got up to 103. My daughter got her fever down, with ice chips and Tylenol.

Today Addyson got a red rash on the top of her feet. She was taken back to doctor's office to have rash looked at. Doctor sent her straight to the hospital to be admitted, for observation. Doctor wants to be on safe side and have blood test run, to check her red & white blood cell count.

Please say a prayer for Addyson. She's 8 years old.

Thank you,
Suzieq

Praying for your granddaughter. My grandson tested positive for type a last Thursday, but is recovering quickly. He is just left with a yucky cough. Hoping for the same for your precious one.

Hmmmm.....

IIRC Rheumatic fever is USUALLY an upper chest rash. Wonder about a foot rash.

How old is the munchkin???

Prayers on the way.....

Hmmmm and it's USUALLY a Strep A issue....

Addyson is 8 years old. The hospital doctor has her on iv antibiotic right now. They think she has something else going on, besides the flu. She got sick a few weeks back with a fever, but it tested negative for flu or strep. So not sure what's going on. Lot of people have dies in NC this flu season and doctor are being very careful to watch all symptoms. When doctor took one look at the rash on the top of her feet, she went into action and sent her straight to the hospital for observation.

After Addyson got to the hospital, they started her on an iv antibiotic called "Rocephin", which should kill any bacteria that might be in her blood stream.

Her blood work came back, showing her red and white blood cell count, to be normal, so that's very good news! Praise the Lord!

She had a fever on 102. They gave her a dose of Tylenol to bring her fever down.

Once she took all of her iv antibiotic, they decides to send her home. Told then to take her back to her regular doctor tomorrow. They will continue to grow the culture for a few days, to see if it shows anything.

Thank you for all the prayers. Please continue to pray for Addyson's fever to come down and body aches to go away.

May the Lord bless you greatly,
Suzieq
