INSANITY People are on the edge everywhere

Before I took DD and her bestie to the park they wanted to go to Whole Foods for grub. I drop them at the door and go park pretty far away because I can relax and not have people right there getting in and out of their cars. I was face timing my other DD and saw a cute guy walking to his car. You know I'm old but this was a cute 30 something nice looking MAN (not a soy boy that so many look like these days). The car he got into had a government plate I noticed as he drove away. Anyhow, I digress. Just then I heard someone honking. Not a polite beep beep but a BBBBEEEEEEEEEPPPPP that went on for a good 20-30 seconds. I turned to see what was happening and there was a small hatchback type silver car with a white small size SUV behind it doing the honking. The smaller car turned into a spot and the white car pulled up behind him blocking him in. A youngish- maybe 20 y/o black kid got out of the small car. Now, this looked like a good kid. Car was clean, he was clean and nicely dressed. No dreads or thuggish type clothing.

A white guy older probably late 30's gets out of the bigger car and starts screaming and I told DD well here we go. I flipped the phone so she could watch with me. I was far enough away they couldn't see me. This man lays into this kid. I mean screaming at the top of his lungs. "YOU CUT ME OFF" and "MY KIDS ARE IN THE CAR". All I could think of was, he cut you off and you got out of the car where your kids are and you are laying into this kid?? I could hear the kid saying I'm sorry it was a mistake and this ass is still screaming. The original cute guy must have hard what was going on because he drove by and kind of parked by the cars. I don't know if he said anything but eventually drove off.

The kid walks away and goes into the store and as he was walking a white lady in a black SUV said to him, "That was NOT your fault". The angry guy gets in his car, drives around the lot, and then parks across from where the kid is parked. He rolled down his window and you could hear his kids screaming. He gets out and takes one out of the car and it was a little baby no more than 5-6 months old! The other kid sounded like a toddler. A "security guard" walked over and started talking to him. I say "security guard" because he couldn't have been more than 100 pounds soaking wet and I thought well WTH is he going to do LOL. Anyway they were talking for a while and then the girls were ready so I never saw the outcome. The kid never came out while I was there maybe 20 minutes. I thought he might be scared to go back out with this raving lunatic asshole.

A confrontation like that was totally unnecessary and I swear I was watching what was going to be the next white on black shooting. Had it gone any further I would have called 911 but sounds like the kid going inside was the right thing for him to do.

That's why I've gone back to shopping early in the morning, like ten minutes after the store first opens. There are few shoppers at that hour and those who are there want to get in and get out. The parking lot is mostly empty, and anyone sitting in a car is likely an employee (or shopper) having a bite of breakfast.

Went to. the weekly flea market on Saturday. An old Ford pickup (loud exhaust) backfired smartly. A number of folks ran behind parked vehicles(hats flying off as they ran)..their eyes bugging out in panic. The pickup sped off quickly.

This is a very small town ...mind you...so yes...the heebee jeebees are everywhere

Never stand around and gawk at that stuff. You don't know when the bullets will start flying.

True! She wrote that she was back far enough to be out of danger. If I'm half-way across the parking lot, I might
monitor the situation, too, and phone 911 if necessary.

I would NOT stand close by and film it or get directly involved, and depending on who was fighting, I might also beat a hasty retreat.

True. DD said Mom where are you parked? Can you get out? There was a rock area with plants in front of me but if needed I’d put the Jeep in 4WD and get out.

I understand what you mean about the bullets. I was probably 10 car lengths away. Close enough for a bullet to hit.

This is why I rarely go out and also do my shopping early. I asked DD how was it in the store? She said Mom it was so crowded and stressful. She hates shopping with a large crowd too but did it for their picnic. I told her next time use our Prime account and get free delivery!

People now think they are "entitled" to whatever you got to before them. I got screamed at by some biatch a couple months ago cause I pulled into the closest to the store handicapped spot, I guess she thought she owned it. Ya know what she did? She pulled around and parked in the driving lane. I made sure to stay in my car for a few to make sure she was well away inside the store. Anymore I go either very early or very late, less people to deal with.....
The funniest ones are old females that think you shouldn't be that close to them so they visibly cringe when you zoom past them in the aisle. Not one man has done that. All the stores I've been in only have the blue tape to keep the people separated at checkouts. Hardly anyone followed the damn arrows in the aisles. I didn't either, I want to get what I go in for and get the hell out.

Just as an FYI I was not standing around watching. Was I too close for bullets? Yes. If my my kids hadn't been in the store I probably would have left. I could have driven over the rocks and hightailed it if it got to that point.

roger that - its easy to get caught up in something without realizing its going down. as you did we are always sure to have an OUT - enough clear distance in front and rear of vehicle to exit and back away from the store near bottom of lot which has fewer vehicles.

What amazes me is the old, obese Karen's who give you an evil glare as if you were going to sexually attack them.

Their self-image of an irresistible 25 year old hot blonde exists only in their self-delusions.

Not to be confused with old men who think they can lay a twenty year old female, right. Not 5hat this has anything to do with the OP.

You are correct. We've gone so "it's their right!" on so many things, people think the only thing people can't do is physically harm someone else. We are even close to justifying petty theft anymore. Not only that, this country pushes this narrative that 99.99% of the majority has to bend over backwards to give consideration to the .01% because of how too many think about equality or rights or whatever.

I see it with personal finances as well. Had a relative go on a rant about how the system is so corrupt, no one can get ahead, etc. etc.. Same person has to live in one of the most costly areas of their city, has a job paying $80K-$110K/year, didn't have to drive to work for over a year now, went out and purchased a new car, etc. etc.. It is just like a recent article where a couple, both out of jobs and on unemployment, went out and got a dog in the middle of it. People are losing it and making so many poor choices. Now I'm seeing the pet crazy go through the roof. Can't just have one pet, gotta have two or three, and all the costs associated with feeding and vet care. The entire "my right" or "I deserve it" mentality is destroying the country at a record pace. It is causing mental instability as people demand to be able to have the best house, a gaggle of pets, a nice car, the ability to take costly vacations, etc. etc.. The Marxist politicians are just using this to make matters worse, promising all sorts of this and that so long as people just vote for them.

Like I said, people are snapping at an ever-increasing rate. Anyone who doesn’t carry a sidearm while out in the world is a fool.

I'm to the point where I don't even want to be around a group of strangers anymore. Any given time someone who has been "wronged" can just show up with their guns and start enacting their warped view of payback. I'd rather spend my time in the back-country, enjoying nature, scenic views, etc.. I wouldn't mind going to our downtown area, but the place has been overran with homeless people, some who have serious issues. Plus one has to deal with finding parking, paying for parking, paying for a "downtown" premium on food and drinks, etc. etc.. Anymore when I'm out shopping or whatever, I try to keep to myself, don't even want to make eye contact if at all possible, because you never know when someone will feel you've "wronged" them and want to start a confrontation.

Yup, I'm an earlybird, too. And like you, try to park way out in the far corners of the lot, away from traffic and crazy people.

Idiots here will try to run you over if you're parked way out where no one else is parked. I've seen some assholes here locally do this, doing circles around some older person who parked further out simply for the exercise or for whatever reason, and are now being harassed. These are the same assholes that'll gun it when driving to kill a cat or dog that's in the road.

Having a baby and a toddler can be tough. Probably had no sleep, maybe a fight with his wife before he left, cranky kids. Then he blows up at the first person who crosses him. It's not right but it's a probable root cause.
