John King, CNN: "You make your case there passionately for President Obama. But also understand that this is a tough reelection climate for any president, Democrat or Republican in this economy. Because of your history with Speaker Gingrich, what goes through your mind when you think of the possibility, which is more real today than it was a week or a month ago, that he would be the Republican nominee and that you could come back here next January or next February with a President Gingrich?"

Rep. Nancy Pelosi: "Let me just say this. That will never happen."

King: "Why?"

Pelosi: "He's not going to be President of the United States. That's not going to happen. Let me just make my prediction and stand by it, it isn't going to happen."

King: "Why are you so sure?"

Pelosi: "There is something I know. The Republicans, if they choose to nominate him that's their prerogative. I don't even think that's going to happen."

Gingrich fires at Pelosi over ethics comment

Updated 4:38 p.m. ET

Newt Gingrich criticizes House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi, saying she would risk a violation of House rules if she divulges information she learned while serving on the panel that investigated him in the mid-1990s.

Gingrich's comments came at a wide-ranging news conference in New York City that touched on his status atop national and state public opinion polls for the GOP presidential nomination.

"I want to thank Speaker Pelosi for what I regard as an early Christmas gift," Gingrich said. He was House speaker from 1995 to 1999, and Pelosi had the job from 2006 until January of this year.

Pelosi told Talking Points Memo today that "one of these days we'll have a conversation about Newt Gingrich" and mentioned "a thousand pages of his stuff" she reviewed as a member of a House ethics committee investigative panel.

Asked for details, Pelosi told TPM, "Not right here. When the time's right."

Pelosi was not suggesting she would release confidential information. "Leader Pelosi was clearly referring to the extensive amount of information that is in the public record, including the comprehensive committee report with which the public may not be fully aware," said Drew Hammill, the leader's press secretary.

Gingrich said today that "83 charges" from the ethics committee were "repudiated as false." He says "the one mistake was a letter by a lawyer that I didn't read carefully."

In 1996, Gingrich admitted he violated House rules by providing "inaccurate, incomplete and unreliable testimony" to the ethics committee as it was investigating whether he used funding from tax-exempt organizations to finance two college courses he taught and to pay for a televised town hall meeting.

The entire House ethics report on Gingrich can be found here.

He was reprimanded by the House in 1997 and ordered to pay a $300,000 fine -- the first time such disciplinary action was taken against a speaker.

In 1998, the last of 84 ethics charges against Gingrich was dropped.

A prominent Democrat openly threatens blackmail against a prominent Republican and that's OK. It's the Republican that has to deal with the stigma of 84 totally bogus, totally political 'ethics' violations. Is this surrealistic or what?

Interesting to note that Krauthammer and the other 'conservative' pundits on Foxnews are now pushing Mitch Daniels as the alternative to Gingrich. If Gingrich is a RINO, why is the ruling class so afraid of him?

Newt is almost similar to Richard Nixon in that he has been in national politics long enough to know where the dirt is on a lot of people in DC. He has been there in the trenches fighting and battling. If he is to be the next President, I hope he has learned from history, and sets the stage for a new American Renaissance.

That said, I believe only Ron Paul could out debate the President, and beat him!

I'm still trying to figure out why anyone would vote for him. He's the epitome of a professional and corrupt politician and in that regard no different than Obama.

He faced numerous ethics investigations, cut back room deals, and waffled on positions based on popular sentiment.

So, since he is running for president he is putting his self out there to be fully vetted. Let the truth come out. And, while Nancy is spewing her guts about him she she do the same about herself.

They're all criminals.

Of course she's ruthless. And a POS. But so is Newt.

Newt and the policies he promoted had a lot to do with the export of our jobs.

Never forget that Newt championed the cause of NAFTA and GATT of which Ross Perot solomnly warned that if these we passed it was a sell out to the globalists and all we would hear is the 'giant sucking sound' of our jobs going overseas. Perot was uproariously mocked by those on the left and the right. Fast forward twenty years and we all know what has happened don't we? Ross was right and Gingrich was in the thick of it trying to ram it through. The pub/dem party [really is only one political party] is a two headed snake. The heads appear a little different to a casual glance but the heads are still attached to a serpent. Heck of a 'choice' [or should say illusion of choice] this system gives us.

I don't think that they are afraid of him, as much as they KNOW that romney is a carbon copy of obamanation. They WANT romney in if they can't get obamanation back in. It's one of these "as long as we stack the deck, we don't care how you vote", things.

What needs to happen, is to get Ron Paul up there. They DO fear him getting in, and that is why they have had the media talk as LITTLE as possible about him, hoping to keep him away from the spotlight and forgotten by all but his following. THIS needs to change (and I don't expect FOX to do it, as they are not true conservatives either).

Newt to Pelosi - 'Put up or shut up...bring it on''
January 25, 2012, 09:02AM

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich responded to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, who said on Wednesday night on CNN's John King that Mr. Gingrich would never become President of the United States.

"There is something I know. The Republicans, if they choose to nominate him that's their prerogative," said Congresswoman Pelosi. "I don't even think that's going to happen."

Mr. Gingrich appeared on The Washington Times affiliated radio program "America's Morning News" and forcefully responded to Rep. Pelosi.

"There's almost a level of hysteria about the prospect of somebody who really wants to change Washington," said Mr. Gingrich to host John McCaslin.

"I have a simple challenge for Speaker Pelosi...you know, put up or shut up. I mean, I have no idea what she's talking about. I don't think she has any idea what she's talking about, but bring it on," he said.

"My life has been looked at by lots of people and I've been around a long time. And I just think that when you are a left-wing Democrat, the prospect of a Gingrich presidency is really sort of like a nightmare," Mr. Gingrich added.

They all have dirt on one another, which is how they force them to maintain the globalist line, while screwing Freedom, Liberty, our Constitution and Bill of Rights-the biggest lure is cold, hard cash, most of them are multi-millionaires on a congressional paycheck. I expect there is some minor divisions betwixt the D's and R's in deecee, probably having to do with the height of the dirt piles and the willingness to stoop lower than the other, or one's being a favorite pet of soros et al. It's calmed down of late, but for a time there was quite a catfight to the top between those inside the ranks of both parties at the top.
"My life has been looked at by lots of people and I've been around a long time. And I just think that when you are a left-wing Democrat, the prospect of a Gingrich presidency is really sort of like a nightmare," Mr. Gingrich added.

I could go so many directions with that statement. I won't. A gingrich presidency would be sending thrills up many pantlegs on the fascist-globalist-"democrat" side, as gingrich is a hardcore liberal as is proven by his past actions, and by golly he's "been around a long time". I suspect the only reason they're not going after RP is that there is nothing on him, so they keep any media regarding him as silent as possible.

If they're getting airtime, you can bet they're promoting the globalist way, destroying the American and expecting to be some poor serf's well fed master in the end.

Pelosi’s office says she doesn’t have any new dirt on Newt Gingrich

Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s office on Wednesday said the minority leader doesn’t have any dirt on Newt Gingrich.

Pelosi has suggested in two interviews that she knows something that could prevent Gingrich from becoming president, but her office said the California Democrat doesn’t have any secrets about Gingrich, who has shot to the top of national Republican polls after winning the South Carolina primary.

"The 'something' Leader Pelosi knows is that Newt Gingrich will not be President of the United States. She made that clear last night," Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill said in a statement.

"Leader Pelosi previously made a reference to the extensive amount of information that is in the public record, including the comprehensive committee report with which the public may not be fully aware,” Hammill said.

Pelosi made headlines on Tuesday when she told CNN Gingrich would not be president, and that “there’s something I know.”

In an interview in December, Pelosi also drew attention by suggesting there was information that could come out of her office that could damage Gingrich. Pelosi suggested it was related to the House ethics investigation of Gingrich; Pelosi served on the panel looking into Gingrich.

“One of these days we’ll have a conversation about Newt Gingrich," Pelosi said at the time. “When the time is right. … I know a lot about him. I served on the investigative committee that investigated him, four of us locked in a room in an undisclosed location for a year. A thousand pages of his stuff.”

But on Wednesday, Hammill repeated that all of the information from the investigation is in the public realm.

Responding to the CNN interview, Gingrich on Wednesday said that Pelosi should just release whatever she was referring to.

“If she knows something, I have a simple challenge: Spit it out,” Gingrich said Wednesday on NBC's "Today" show.

So, the question in my mind is would Pelosi sacrafice herself (by violating house rules) in divulging something she knows from her days on the ethics panel to @bama?

Seriously, I have no clue. She walks lock step with The One but I am positive that girl is out to get her own. If she blabs anything it will be to save "O", cause I do believe the dems see Newt as a threat to their leader. But if she blabs anything it puts her in a tight place and a possible ethics violation and investigation...end of the power trip for San Fran Nan.
