Veg Pear tomato question

I'm growing different varieties of veggies than my normal this yr to see how they do...what their quirks are... n so on...but this is one I've never dealt with...the boys got some sort of pear tomato seed...so I shrugged n planted them...got our first big harvest...started cleaning them for the crockpot...started to cut the first one...holy hannah...they aren't anything like a roma... these have a solid core center almost clear through that reminds me more of a root system...core is solid n white...but branches into what looks like lil roots...hummm...ok... whatever...but then I started finding dark places that look like molded /rotted seeds...not blossom end rot..is that type of center normal for pear tomatoes and what causes the inside of the tomato to appear to have moldy/rotted seeds?...like I said ...blossom end rot I can deal with...but this one stumped me

That's what the inside of tomatoes look like for me when I've let them sit around so long that the seeds inside sprout and really are growing actual roots.
