I put some on my knee today, it had been hurting off and on for a couple of days. The pain went away quickly.

I actually used it and got some relief this evening. Though it didn’t help my “primary” pain, after the cortisone injections alleviated that, I’ve been having “secondary” pain in a different spot. Her oil helped with that. I’ll get more when I have some spare cash.

Thanks, friend! I had an Amishman stop in tonight... he was visiting a relative (Noah) and the Noah couldn't stop raving about the livestock version of the Ouch liniment, and also mentioned that he wants to sell the Ouch liniment in his small shop. Seems the Amishman had an injured horse... Noah insisted he couldn't do any better than to get over to see me and get some turmeric salve immediately.

He did so, and mentioned he's a blacksmith and wants to start selling the salve. So that makes three shops which will be carrying one or the other.

I'm looking into Etsy, and I think it should be possible to sell there. As long as I don't make "medical claims", there shouldn't be a problem. The biggest advantage would be not having to set up a website, shopping cart, payment optiins, etc st this point.

I'm considering trying something where I'll send people a free bottle of the Ouch liniment if they will post sonething on a website where they are long-time members, based solely on their experience using the oil. Word of mouth is clearly my best friend in this, and I sincerely thank each of you who have already spread the word to family and friends! But of course, existing customers can only use so much product. I'm a homebody... I've only every posted here and at The Tree of Liberty, but I know others are members at other specialty boards. Because of the nature of the 'net, you can't just join a board and offer sonething for sale... it's seen as spam, and rightly so! But a positive word from a longtime member is different.

So... when I get set up at Etsy, assuming it works out (and any advice would be greatly appreciated), I'll post an offer here again.

I'm dead beat tonight...had my 2 year old granddaughter visit over the weekend, which was great fun, but oh my gosh! My spine isn't used to lugging a wiggly littly person around! Then, today we picked rocks off a 6 acre field... took about 6 hours, and we got 5 full trailerloads of rocks. Holy cow, am I out of shape. Thankfully, after a backrub with the Ouch liniment (I returned the favor... hubby's issues were mostly neck and shoulders) my pain is gone. I shouldn't be surprised, but when everything feels like someone has been beating you with a stick, and 20 minutes after the liniment is applied, it all just fades away... yeah, it still makes me say, "wow! That stuff does work!". Now I need some sleep... gotta make cheese and pkant the rest of the strawberries tomorrow. But I'm going to be seeing rocks every time I close my eyes!

Life's been busy and I haven't been on TB lately, missed this place! Almost missed this thread!

Summerthyme, you have such a gift, I am excited for you and am ordering Summer's Oil and giving to family members with chronic pain.
I'm excited to see their results!
(And mine!)

Life has been happening lately and I haven't taken time to add my experience with the Ouch liniment, so here goes.

I injured my right knee about 10 years ago and had out patient surgery to clean up the torn cartilage. The doc told me "it was a mess in there" and that what he did might give me relief for 3 years or so but I was definitely looking at a knee replacement in the future. Things were ok for about 5 years and then started going downhill, but not enough for me to contemplate major surgery. I can tolerate it most days as long as I'm careful.

A few weeks ago I injured it again running after a stupid dog. (Note to self: you are too old and fat for that crap) This coincided with the arrival of the liniment and I started using it right away. Honestly, I didn't notice much pain relief the first 5 days or so, but the knee never swelled like it usually does after an injury. The pain was so bad I was thinking about making an appointment, but also started applying the liniment every 2 hours instead of 3 or 4 times a day. Wow! What a difference! In two days it improved about 80%. There's still pain, but it's getting better every day and I am so very grateful. Summerthyme, you have a customer for life. I never want to be without this stuff!

I'll just add that over the years I've used essential oils for various things with mixed results. For the knee pain specifically, I've used expensive oils for pain and inflammation from a large, nationally recognized company that did not perform as well as this.

Summerthyme, thank you so much for making this available to us! You are so appreciated.

Thanks so much, juco! I think if I can get an etsy shop set up, I'd like to also offer a variant of the Ouch liniment for acute injuries (especially those with significant bruising) which also contains arnica oil. I believe it does make a difference, but, well... it's not vital for things like arthritis and fibromyalgia, and I have to keep the cost down somehow.

And yes, we've found that for acute injuries, using it frequently really helps pain relief.

I can see I'm going to have to make some sort of little hang tag to go with this stuff, probably in a FAQ form... the most frequent question seems to be "can I use this as often as I want, or am I limited to 2-3 times a day"... I tend to forget that older folks, especially want very specific "rules" to follow. It would also allow me to use a larger font... I'm very aware of the readability problems with the labels, but I'm constrained by needing to get the basic info included, and as it is, the 2"x4" label barely fits on the 1 ounce bottle.

It makes me so happy to hear of how much this stuff is helping people!

I would be very interested in a bottle with the arnica addition for times like this.
And if you have questions or need any help with setting up an Etsy shop I would be happy to help!

Bones

Living On A Prayer
As most here know, I'm a pretty wrecked man from a seriously injurious, headfirst fall. I live, every waking moment, in chronic pain.

Summerthyme was gracious and merciful and sent me a bottle, at her own expense, to help me.

I'm very honored by this. I'm also happy to report that the oil is helpful in taming the horrid beast that occupies my muscles, in many places.

I've tried it on my crippled up right hand and have some relief. I've applied it to my occasionally very painful biceps. The pain was GONE in about 3 minutes. Yes, it returned in an hour or so, but it helps and helped.

My wife applied it along my spine, but the oil wasn't effective. We conclude that there are areas of damage too great for the oil to help. Summerthyme and I have discussed it, and both conclude it isn't a miracle cure.

I write this, with gratitude to Summerthyme and enthusiastically give her Ouch Oil an enormous thumbs up!

I use it all day, every day, and have talked at length with my physical therapist about it. I'm on board!!!!!

Thank you, Summerthyme!!!!

Thank you Mark, for your kind words. I wish it helped more, but having lived with chronic pain myself, I kniw that even a small bit of relief can be very welcome. I'm grateful to be able to "pay it forward"... something our late friend and member Cory Hamasaki so often encouraged us to do. And several people have paid a bit more than i asked for their orders, so I'm happy to be able to pass that on to those who might get some relief ftom the liniment (or silver or elderberry) but whose personal situation doesn't stretch to buying it themselves.

On TB every waking moment
Looking forward to the reformulation with arnica.

Been getting some relief with my knees since my bottle got here a bit over a week ago. The little roller top bottles seem to dispense it about perfectly and so far have not been negatively affected by the oils. An unexpected advantage with the roller is that it seems to help pinpoint areas that need a little heavier application of oil- if it hurts to roll it on, add more :D.

I have given sample bottles to a couple of neighbors who have chronic pain from age, injury etc. They are looking forward to being able to order it independently - do be sure and spread the word when you get set up on Etsy!

Thanks for this and for all else you share here,

A quick tip for folks who live alone, or who have painful shoulders, upper backs or other hard to reach spots...

While I'm blessed to have a husband who is wiling to apply the oil when I need it, he isn't always available, and I hate to take him away from a job even if he doesnt complain. And lately, my upper spine has bern screaming about the several hours of weeding every non-rainy day, trying to keep up in a very difficult yesr.

So, a couple weeks ago, I ordered one of these "long handled applicators", and found that it works very well...

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CAW7SD8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The oil "sticks" to the applicator pad well enough so it gets onto your skin (even if you gave to hold it vertically or upside down to reach the appropriate spot), but it doesn't absorb into the pad, so you get the benefit. The pads are replaceable, byt so far, it appears they will last a good long time.

I have a minor complaint about how they designed the handle... the finger depressions aren't really at the correct angle compared to the curve in the handle and the direction the applicator pad attaches, but it really is minor, and doesn't affect the usefulness of the applicator.

For anyone with shoulder problems, this would be a huge help, and I suspect some folks who don't bend as well as they used to would find it useful for applying liniment (or other skin creams, etc) to their lower legs and feet.

I'm finally caught up on the orders... I have 2-3 more to send out for now. If anyone hasn't received an order they paid for, please let me know! There were a few people who expressed interest, but never followed up, and I sure don't want to think they mailed payment and it got lost... and they're wondering why I haven't sent their order!

I'd like to thank you all again for your support... material, words of encouragement and prayers. You are a blessing, and I'm grateful.

I received my bottle of oil today and am trying it on several problem areas, mainly knees. Since I have no pain free days any more, any relief will be appreciated. I'm anxious for my daughter to try it, too. She has a lot of ligament/tendon problems from having been prescribed Levaquin in the past. Hoping she can get some relief, too. Thank you so much, Summerthyme, for sharing your wisdom.

Another success story. My wife gave some of the ouch liniment to her sister. SIL slept an entire night for the first time in a long time. She's thrilled and wants to spread the news over facebook (her home...)
I asked her to wait until an online shop is setup. She's primed to spread the word. It's still working for my wife as well.

That's great! I'm working on setting up something on etsy... we had a couple decent weather days and I've had to concentrate on outside work, but I'll get it done this week. I'm hoping to get permission from some folks here to use anonymous "testimonials", since I can't legally make any medical claims (nor woukd I want to)

I just invested close to a thousand bucks in more essential oils, so I'd better work on getting a ssles venue set up!

Yeah, essential oils aren't cheap, but they are definitely cheaper per unit in bulk.

If I can get away with it, I'll be offering colloidal silver and elderberry syrup as well. Possibly my turmeric livestock salve, too; it's been selling quite well at a couple of blacksmith shops around here.

That's great, Cardinal! I know we'd *never* be able to do the gardening and farming we're doing without it... I've had to come in and apply it to my spine at least twice during the work day to be able to keep bending over transplanting, but at least it DOES work and let me do that. Ibuprofen (including in prescription doses) doesn't help at all, and trashes my gut, although taking licorice root with it helps a little with that problem.

The elderberry syrup and colloidal silver are $10 per 8 ounce bottle. If folks want to order it along with a liniment refill, it will save you a ton (per bottle) on shipping, because I can fit at least 5, 8 ounce bottles in a Regional Rate box and pay the same as if there was a single 2 ounce bottle in there...

Never too late! PM me...

Thanks for the reports, guys. I'm so glad it's helping so many! I'm trying to get ready to set up an etsy shop, but we simply have to take advantage of the few good weather days... if we don't get the gardens finished, we won't eat this winter! Looks like Monday is going to rain (again... while we're nowhere near as bad as the Midwest, we dont need any more rain!), so hopefully that will give me time to figure out etsy and set something up.

But in the meantime, anyone who wants to order, just PM me with the size you want and your zipcode, and I'll get back to you with the shipping cost and total.

Thanks again, to everyone!

ST, just want you - and any others who may have this same problem - to know that your awesome potion works for leg cramps as well. I seem to get them when low on potassium and they will hit either one leg/ankle/foot or both at the same time. It wakes me up and prior to getting your magic lotion, I would have to get up and walk it off or get a heating pad on the cramp to get it to loosen up. So painful.

But no more - they still wake me up when they start but slathering on the liniment stops it within minutes . . . . well, one was extremely stubborn, curled my toes (literally) and that took a little longer, but what relief. THANK YOU, THANK YOU. (What's good for the cows has got to be good enough for me too. And it is.)

Someone gifted me some of “Summer’s Oil”. I wanted to thank that anonymous person publicly. Though it didn’t work on my shoulder, it works well for several other pain points I suffer with.

And thank you summer, for the effort and research over the years to come up with this product. I hope you make a million bux.

Summerthyme, today I enjoyed a lovely dinner with Seeker. We compared our broken shoulders and she told me about this thread. I definitely need to try your Ouch oil. I'm seeing a physical therapist, and going to a pain clinic and physical therapy. Can't wait to try your product. Sending you a message. Thank you.

I received an order of Summerthyme's oil and some elderberry syrup, and wanted to say that this oil really does work.
My husband is a tradesman and has painful hands that wake him up at night.
He has tried it for the past two days and says the relief is instantaneous.
He did say it seems to wear off at night, but that is to be expected. He was looking at the bottle and asking me, what is in this for it to work so fast?
I explained to him how ST makes tinctures, etc. and helps her Amish neighbors.
He wants me to order more, and wants to give some to his boss.
I am so glad Summerthyme offered this to us! We really are lucky that she shares her wisdom here.

Keep us updated if you get a shop set up. I am definitely recommend ing this oil, and will be ordering more for family and friends.
Thank you Summerthyme.

Summertime, We have used a lot of oil this week! Hubby's back, my back... And after hiking 8 miles around the AT Saturday and waking up in our tent with painful leg cramps, I was glad I had it to rub on our calves! The leg cramps stopped so we could get back to sleep. In the morning it helped a LOT with out stiff legs also.

Summerthyme,

My husband put in a special request for me to tell you 'Thank You' for him.

He's not usually gracious like this and often forgets to tell people that who've helped him, but today he was adamant I tell you.

He says he was desperate and so tired of the pain in his arms and shoulders. He was going to make an appointment with the doctor.

Anyway, I gave him his own bottle to use anyway he wants and he's been rubbing it on.

He said he wakes up pain free in the mornings and the first time thought he was dreaming. He couldn't believe it. He feels like he's healed now.

So from him to you -- THANK YOU!!

Bump so people don't forget this option for pain. It is still working for us.

Funny you bumped this

I just got in from a 12 hour day of storm clean up and went straight for the oil.

Except we are out!!!!

Just ordered more.

Funny how dependent I have become on this oil. I worked harder than I should knowing I could treat it with ST magic oils.

Tomorrow is going to suck

Wow... I know we've been super busy haying and with the gardens, but I don't know how I missed a few posts!

MilkMaid... tell hubby "your welcome! Honestly, knowing it's helping people is all the thanks I need...

Caralee and foreverkeeps... thans for taking the time to report results! I really appreciate it.

Now that things havevslowed down a *little* (bwahahaha! We've got 115 chickens to send to freezer camp this week and next), I've get "set up etsy account" up at the top of my to-do list. Hopefully, it will make it easier for people to order, although I'm still getting reorders via PM and it's working ok.

I need to make more oil, and order another 5 gallon pail! I went to fill a couple of orders, and discovered I'm out of all but a couple 8 oz bottles. And my local rep is also out of all the smaller sizes! I've got enough for now, but I can't believe I'm almost out again!

One little warning... this is a pretty savvy bunch, and I doubt it's necessary, but...

I just saw a nice yearling filly whose owner misdiagnosed a swollen leg as a sprain. He applied the livestock version of the Ouch liniment, but obviously missed the importance of the worsening symptoms. It's a massive cellulitis infection, apparently starting from a small scrape on the inside of her hock, and I'm afraid it probably will kill her. She's not showing any signs of septicemia, but the swelling is massive, and has spread up to her tail and into her belly. It's bad...

So... pain is an important symptom! The liniment isn't likely to mask pain from a serious problem, but be aware of the possibility that a painful spot or joint (*especially* if it's accompanied by swelling, redness or heat) could be a more serious problem, and seek professional help if it worsens, or there is any hint it could be an infection!

Thank you for bumping this. I missed this completely somehow the previous times around.

I would love to try a small bottle for my very serious chronic pain. Most of the opiods do nothing for me, and only a few of the stronger NSAIDS do any thing for me. And if it works, I'd want to order more. I'm sending you a PM (summerthyme).
