ALERT PA Begins Collecting Online taxes Saturday

Beginning Saturday, PA residents will owe 6% sales tax on online purchases (glad I bought the Glock already). This increases to 7% for Allegheny county (Pgh) and 8% for Phila.

Isn't this a little hard to collect from out of state vendors?

Massachusetts has been attempting to tax purchases made in Cow Hampshire for years - to include following residents obviously on a buying spree across the border, photographing the purchase, and then stopping the buyers after they cross the line back into Massachusetts.

This activity has been stopped by the Massachusetts Courts.

According to the article in our local paper, any business that has a 'nexus' (a location, such as a warehouse) in PA has given the state a means to collect the tax (example given, Amazon). http://www.dailyamerican.com/news/s...g-internet-sales-tax-20120828,0,5834344.story
