Nope. But make sure you get your jars all full, lids organized, etc, before you open the O2 absorbers.I keep mine in the fridg and the freezer. Do I need to let them thaw up before opening the package? I've got a lot of things I need to get in jars that will need the oxy rather than vacuum sealing.

It shouldnt... I think the max they get isn't much above 100 degrees F. They are the same as the hand warmers they sell to use inside mittens.I opened a bag of O2 absorbers and put them in a plastic jar and they got hot, then found a glass jar. I used about a dozen in a big plastic type locking tote.
Will that heat cause a spontaneous fire?
