For a time of relative peace. If you look around that's the most any war buys you. It lasts about the length of a lifetime and then all the people who went through the hardships and horrors of the war are dead and the ones who grew up on the stories of it are dying out so nobody really understands how awful it is and we do it all over again.

15 years ago a primate happened upon a group of rebels, and bonded over tobacco and sugary drinks as they mocked and enticed him into a hybrid form of bipedalism and fetch-spot gorilla (chimp-out) warfare.
The amped uP biped having consumed an additional 20 oz beverage of the group’s espresso pot, broke through his awkward angst of being the only unshaved party goer, and though clumsy and somewhat agitated, took the crew up on their offer of dance lessons with an AK-47.
The rebels dispersed but were ruthlessly pursued. The scene turned really ugly when the chimp ran out of ammo, and no one would offer him a spare magazine.
In ruthless hand to hand combat, the chimp single handedly ripped appendages off the dance troupe like low hanging fruit in the jungle.
National Geographic will never be the same.
This is why we fight boy’s.
A lesson to be learned. Keep the sugar and tobacco and expresso beans in a safe. And make sure you never run out of loaded magazines. JIC you need to entertain friends with short tempers.

My uncle would be 106 if still alive. He left us in 2005. He was 23 years old at Pearl.
Our last phone conversation. He ended it with “This isn’t the country we intended to leave you.”
Can you imagine the $#!+ show we have become since just 2005? I am so thankful my parents, my uncles and aunts, are gone for this time.
The social back lash when this ship of state is righted will fill history books for centuries if there is a future to be had.

The WWII heroes died to give us the 1950s. It was a shame they turned into the 1960s. And beyond.

Our parents and grandparents went through a Depression, WW II, some of them Korea too, went to school on the GI bill, bought their Levitt house- which last two they perceived as priceless gifts from God- and said, "Damn it, my kids are not gonna want for anything! I grew up in a very racist home. That's how I was raised. When I joined the Navy, (Submarines),I finally learned the difference in color. But, being on the boat for 5 years, only about 8-9 blacks were ever on board. And to this day, I would trust my life with them. They earned it. Has anyone else of color held that distinction in your life?
