Oregon State Police Pull Out Of Protecting Portland Courthouse After City Refuses To ‘Prosecute This Criminal Behavior,’ Department Says
12-15 minutes

The Oregon State Police announced on Thursday that it was pulling out its roughly 100 state troopers from protecting the Mark O. Hatfield United States Courthouse in downtown Portland after the city’s district attorney announced that he is not pursuing charges against the rioters who have been arrested.

The Oregon State Police had committed to helping local law enforcement officials deal with the violent riots for a period of two weeks, which has now expired.

“We’re in a county that’s not going to prosecute this criminal behavior,” said spokesman Capt. Timothy R. Fox.

Fox also said: “The Oregon State Police is continually reassessing our resources and the needs of our partner agencies and at this time we are inclined to move those resources back to counties where prosecution of criminal conduct is still a priority.”

The Oregon State Police shared a photograph on Thursday that showed a rock that had been thrown at one of their troopers, writing, “OSP Trooper sustained a concussion & whiplash after being struck in the head during the protests in Portland.”

“State police were sent to Portland on July 30 under an agreement between Gov. Kate Brown and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to try to curtail the clashes throughout the month between federal officers” and violent rioters, The Oregonian reported. “Once state police took over control of the front portico of the courthouse and generally stayed out of sight, a group of protesters turned attention to Portland police precincts in Northeast and Southeast Portland and the police union headquarters in North Portland.”
Attorney General William Barr called out the Democrat Party last month for refusing to call out the violence in Portland.

“What makes me concerned for the country is, this is the first time in my memory that the leaders of one of our great two political parties, the Democratic Party, are not coming out and condemning mob violence and the attack on federal courts,” Barr said. “Why can’t we just say: ‘Violence against federal courts has to stop?’ Could we hear something like that?”

Acting Department of Homeland Security Secretary Chad Wolf condemned the violence in mid-July and released a long list of just some of the attacks that have occurred.

Now the State and Feds need to make it hurt financially.
The only way to get Commies off their high is to make them Pay.

And Fedgov should start prosecuting cases referred by OSP.

"THEY" will always have police protection and food and etc. It is the ordinary citizen that will need help. And besides, the crud in the cities will move into the country after the cities are unable to support life.

I like the rag Nanshy uses to hide her neckbeard. The reason the rioters are successful is because of the lack of prosecution and incarceration. When they bring this to a place where the gloves are off, they will experience real consequences. The Police should abandon all the precincts being attacked. Let them burn and don't restaff or rebuild. Then the neighborhood will feel the consequences of the "Protests". Disable their EBT cards and see if that brings the normal black folks around to their senses. If they riot and loot, eventually they will run out of things to burn and steal. And eat.

ONe would expect now that Karen Brown and her minons are leaving off from protecting the Federal Courthouse - that this leaves Trump clear to send the Fed Forces back in.

Of course this is a "direct insult" for the rioters/Marxists. They will re-group and continue their Fed Courthouse insurrection.

One hopes that this time some incarceration and charges will be lodged - and stuck. The rioters should be encouraged to think of the courthouse as their own private entrance to 10 years in Federal Prison.

Yunno. If this had been the plan from the beginning, the riots would have ended about day 16? Trump had every right to do this. The courthouse IS Federal Property. If the locals won't step up up to the plate then its up to the Fed to protect it's own.

Yes, I know. Trump doing what he can to convince electorate that a Democratic Political Lifestyle is worse than a Trump Victory

I just want to make sure I have this right:

- The feds go to Portland to protect the federal courthouse because the PPD won't
- The mayor insists that the feds leave, and that the PPD will protect the federal courthouse. Further, the attempts to burn the building will cease
- Trump agrees and pulls out the feds
- The rioting and attempts to burn the building continue, but the OSP tries to protect it
- The local DA states that he will NOT prosecute rioting and arson
- The OSP pulls out of protecting the federal building, leaving it "naked" to the rioters/arsonists

Do I have that right?

The success of this all depends who and what is waiting for them at the first good ambush points on the routes they will take.

When they meet up with hunting rifles sighted in beyond 200 yards that leave holes bigger than baseballs they'll turn around.

Yes but now the Mayor has rethought such and has decided the police will work with the Feds.

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler, the Democrat leader under fire over his handling of the weeks of unrest in the city’s downtown, said the city’s early resolution essentially banning any interaction between city police and federal authorities was rushed and has since been revised, a report said.

The Oregonian reported that Wheeler said on Wednesday that last month’s resolution missed a few “key points,” including the fact that state police were federally deputized to protect federal assets in the city. The new policy allows communication between city police and federal authorities in the city who are normally based there, the report said.

State police Capt. Timothy R. Fox said Thursday that officers are leaving the city after a two-week assignment to help protect a federal courthouse that’s been a target of protesters during months of conflict near the Mark O. Hatfield U.S. Courthouse.

The state police are “continually reassessing our resources and the needs of our partner agencies and at this time we are inclined to move those resources back to counties where prosecution of criminal conduct is still a priority,” he said
