HEALTH One Year After Dennis' Accident

I just realized it has been a year since Dennis nearly died in that car accident. It happened on October 2, 2023.

It feels like a lifetime has been packed in the 12 months since that time. Just wanted to take a moment and tell the Chief that I am grateful he is still here with us!

Man, that was a stressful time! https://www.timebomb2000.com/xf/ind...st-1-major-update-post-1726-1931-1961.638658/

You have come a long way since that time, Dennis. Prayers for many more years of health and happiness.

Thank you for your kindness. I’m still weak when standing or walking.
Totally expected given the seriousness of your injuries. Regaining strength after that and at our age is hard. You are doing remarkably well considering all you went through and what you're still dealing with. I still can't believe they sent you home when they did...you were in no condition to care for yourself at that time.

When I stand up, about ten seconds later I go through a “vertigo incident.” Every time. Also, if I’ve been seated over an hour, I’m so stiff that I can’t take any steps for about 30 seconds. If I stand to cook more than 5 minutes, my lower back becomes very weak, and I have to bend forward at the waist to keep standing. It’s also very painful. I’m not supposed to lift more than ten lbs, but 2x/day, I have to lift Aja’s back half to help her either get into the car for a little exercise at the local field, or up the steps to the bed. She weighs about 90 lbs.

I don't have Vertigo or Anemia symptoms I hope you have address this problem with your doctor and may end up telling you to go on a long term diet.
Now My self have similar issues with getting up after sitting for a while and it takes me a few seconds to stand upright and then try taking a few steps slowly and then I'm ok. Before I broke my pelvis I could carry a lot of weight like I could pick up two cases of water with no problem and walk off with it, now not so much but I have improved a great deal over the last few years and can carry one case of water a few yards before I have to stop and give it a rest and if I do this enough I will pay for it later the right side of my pelvis will be hurting or really tight/stiff.
By now You know your limits go with what ever hurts less.

The vertigo is probably due to the damage to your middle ear. That was no “gentle landing” you took when you went flying.

Very glad you made it. Prayer warriors were really working hard. Hope you'll be getting stronger as time goes on.
