FASCISM Ohio Woman Arrested and Tased For Not Wearing a Mask at Son's Outdoor Football Game

Alecia Kitts traveled to see her son play football in Logan, Ohio. Footage shows her seated with her family at the proper social distance from other families without a mask on. A police officer approached her and arrested her. After she struggled and resisted arrest, the officer in the video tased her into submission in front of children.

One witness, according to the Ohio Star, said that a child sitting on the metal bleachers got shocked when the charge traveled through the metal.
According to Tiffany Kennedy, the woman who shot the above video, Kitts had not been warned for not wearing a mask prior to the officer approaching her. Kennedy also said that Kitts has asthma and that’s why she was not wearing a mask.
“There is no reason to tase someone and arrest them for not wearing a mask,” Kennedy said.
Kennedy also pointed out the female officer who is shown running toward the Logan officer and Kitts at the end of the video was not wearing a mask – pulling one out of her pocket as she was in pursuit.
“Alecia’s mom said that when the officer tased her, the current went through the bleachers and zapped the kid sitting there too.”
Kitts appears to be socially distanced from others in the crowd and sitting with her family. “There were only 25 or 30 fans from our town on our side,” said Kennedy.
Police declined to comment. The description on the video posted to YouTube reads:
Only in LOGAN OHIO does a person get TASED AND ARRESTED for not wearing a freaking MASK Here u can also see very clearly that NEITHER of these cops even had a mask on, yet they’re arresting this girl for not wearing a mask TURN VOLUME UP ‍♀️ Police brutality at its finest

There are two important facts to sort through. First, Ohio has a mask mandate but only when you are indoors or cannot socially distance. The school might have its own rules on masking, but it is unclear whether they could have someone arrested for not following policy. Surely, it would have been less traumatizing for the children who witnessed this or were hurt by it if they had just escorted her out instead of having her arrested.

Secondly, there’s no excuse for resisting arrest, even when it’s an unlawful arrest, which this may be. Resisting arrest leads to getting hurt. It’s always a better strategy to go with police willingly while retaining a good lawyer who will fight it out for you in court. Resisting arrest puts lives in danger. Don’t do it.

Wow, why to people put up with this so called police work?

When are people going to get involved? There are simply ways to interfere, like
standing really close or in between. Yes, it works.

I highly doubt that this school will ever hire this officer for security work in the future as
he totally screwed the pooch with this gig.

Planet Fitness called the cops on me for not masking up in between sets. For real. I spoke with the cop outside when asked to step outside and was cooperative. Nothing happened. No cuffs. No jail. We talked, I showed him ID, we were friendly. Chuckled about the mask mandates. This was a month ago at least. Things are considerably more relaxed in the Great State of Indiana now. Yes, I quit Planet Fatness that day.

I dunno WHAT the local county rules are in Logan.....SOME of our counties are MUCH more stringent on masks than others depending on the infection rates and rate of increase...

Logan is in Hocking County. Most of the county is quite rural. Logan isn’t that big, but is probably the county seat. We’re talking redneck Ohio here. Hard to believe anyone cares about masks, especially the police. If the police are that bored, they need to get to Columbus to deal with the rioters.

As a practical matter I agree, but, this really applies in a fair and just social order. As this society devolves into a less fair equilibrium and is replete with countless examples of unjust laws and uneven law enforcement, one can make the case that there may be a moral imperative to resist certain arrests.

I don't recall anyone at Lexington or Concord peacefully submitting to the authorities.

I believe people have been 'getting involved' for the last 120 days, in places like Chicago, Kenosha, Louisville, Seattle, Portland, et. al. Same gripes, far different approach.

That's why I go to the bike trails. No one cares about or enforces mask use, although -- so far -- users do social distance.

Planet Fatness was very convenient for me. Any "gym" that has tootsie rolls at the front counter for the members to take handfuls of is not a gym I want to be a part of anyway. Their staff were all at least 60 lbs overweight. I've been lifting for 4 decades. I found a better place in town. Way more hard core. Nice. I "fit" right in.

If their staff spent as much time berating me as they do for new members about their diets and how to correct them they would be worth a damn.

Just to be clear - the arrest was NOT for refusing to wear the garment of submission.
The arrest was for criminal trespass. When the school asked her to mask up or leave, she chose to do neither. Neither was not an option in this case. She was clearly told to leave.

I refuse to don the garment of submission - with only two exceptions 1 - to see my doctor, and 2 - to get the quarterly bloodwork that is required for my medication. I wear a 1/2 bandana that is threadbare. They don't care, as it appears that I am at least attempting to appease them. The "vampires" giggle at my "mask". They agree that it is a silly overreach of government control.

If I am told as I enter a building that I MUST wear the garment of submission, I turn and leave - explaining on the way out that there are others willing to take my money and stay in business. I do not stay and cause a scene. To do so will lead to a charge of criminal trespass. Their house, their rules. I respect that. And leave when told to do so.

I wonder what would have happened if all the people in the stadium got up, took off their masks and surrounded this woman to prevent this arrest.

this is the kind of thing that needs to begin to happen - whether it was this mask incident or someone being harassed in a restaurant by BLM/ANTIFA scum - PEOPLE NEED TO STAND TOGETHER AND SAY NO when it is in defense of an obvious wrong.

Interesting. A mom at a public place with business there to support her son on a team is hardly what I would call trespassing.

Heard from a parent on a recent game about a travel game where they had a draconian announcement about masks, distancing etc.

Parent taking photo’s off the field and not near the stands was approached by local police to put on a mask. Polite enough but seemed pointless at the time because he was no where near anyone (telephoto lenses do wonders).

Guess where this game was held????

Logan Ohio seems to have a case of the Karens.

Someone was trying to jack this on the governor, based on what I am seeing if a small town wants to freak, why get all silly about it. The Ohio high school sports governing bodies established the mask rules and crowd size and distance to allow for in person high school sports. This is controlled and managed by the individual districts. But Ohio high school sports started up even before The Big Ten crawled from under their blankies to allow college sports.

Seems like much bigger hills to run up and plant a flag.

For crying out loud, that was hideous. I would follow that clown officer home and beat him senseless. Horrible. Absolutely horrible. A two foot long, 1-1/2 inch steel pipe would change his mind.

I know and we all know, but the people are Gone now - they are conditioned Sheep and Will Not defend others. They are Sheep and will always comply. It is the one percent that will not comply - like us maybe. It is too late for the sheep.......

Actually, school property is not "public property", it is the property of the school administration, which is typically a government agency.
So, let's change the venue. You walk into the county courthouse to witness your son's trial for a traffic violation. You are the only one sitting in the audience. The county judge requires you to don a mask. You say no. What's the difference? Well, instead of a police officer it's the bailiff who detains you.

Their house, their rules. If you don't like the rules, don't enter the house.

If the school property were considered "public", and they had no control over who enters there, how safe would the students and faculty be?

I think the cop acted " stupidly " Made a big issue out of nothing. Simply because he is " the law ". A good cop has ample amounts of common sense. This clown displayed none !!!

But him back to washing / waxing police cars, taking out the garbage, cleaning toilets & urinals

Seems this thread only has one side of the story.
Couple of things weren't mentioned in the OP.

1st. She wasn't shot with a taser. When she struggled with the officer he used the stun gun feature directly on her shoulder, so the kid sitting in the bleachers is talking BS. There were no darts and no wires, just the two electrodes on the taser touched to her shoulder.

2nd. The officer pleaded with her 3 or 4 times to put a mask on. She refused.

3rd She initiated a physical confrontation with the LEO when the LEO went to escort her out of the stands. Since she wouldn't wear a mask she was asked to leave the premises and decided to get into a physical confrontation with the officer.

4th. She was arrested for criminal trespassing, and not for not wearing a mask.
5th. She had to be placed in the cop car because she kept struggling against the LEOs. She was cited for criminal trespass and released in the parking lot.

Only one thing to do
Defund the police, and riot and burn down the school. :shk:

Actually stupid is as stupid does. She deserved everything she got and more. She was looking for a confrontation and she got it. She should have been charged with resisting arrest with violence.

She could have worn a kerchief loosely across her face and everything would have been fine.
Even if she had asthma, which I don't believe, a kerchief would not have interfered with her breathing.
She was just looking to make trouble. She was a stupid stubborn A-hole thinking that being female would allow her to get her way. :shk:

Read the police report below.

Here is the Police report
Logan Police Department
on Thursday
PRESS RELEASE
On September 23rd at approximately 5:30 P.M. School Resource Officer Chris Smith was working a special duty detail at the Logan High School Stadium for the 7th and 8th grade football games. The special duty assignment was requested by the Logan Hocking School District to help ensure the safety of the fans and athletes during their inside and outside sporting events.
One of the duties of the assignment is to ensure fans and are complying with CDC, Ohio Health Department, Ohio Athletic Association and Logan Hocking School District policy rules and guidelines. One of these policy guidelines mandated by the Logan Hocking School District is that all spectators must wear a mask while on school property.
Officer Smith was walking in the stadium and observed a female sitting in the stands without a mask, he approached the female and advised her she needed to put her mask on as required by the school policy. The female advised that she had asthma and was not going to put it on. Officer Smith advised the female several times that she needed to put her mask on, and that if she did not, she would be asked to leave and would have wait outside the stadium. The female continually refused his request and Officer Smith advised her that if she refused to leave, she would be cited for trespassing and escorted off the property.
After several attempts to get her to leave, Officer Smith advised her she was under arrest for criminal trespassing
and asked her to place her hands behind her back multiple times and she refused. Officer Smith attempted to place her hand behind her back, the female began resisting by pulling away from the Officer and another female began interfering with the arrest. Officer Smith advised her to comply or he would deploy his Taser if she did not quit resisting. She continued to resist, and Officer Smith placed his Taser on her shoulder area and drive stunned her once. He was able to successfully handcuff the female at that time. An additional officer arrived and assisted in walking the female out of the stadium. She continued to try to pull away from the officers while being escorted out of the stadium and had to be placed into the cruiser.
The female initially refused to identify herself. Hocking County Emergency Medical Services was requested and responded to the scene. The female refused treatment
.
The female was later identified as Alecia D. Kitts. She was charged with Criminal Trespassing and released at the scene. Additional charges are pending on Mrs. Kitts and another female subject involved in the incident.
It is important to note, the female was not arrested for failing to wear a mask, she was asked to leave the premises for continually violating school policy. Once she refused to leave the premises, she was advised she was under arrest for criminal trespassing, she resisted the arrest, which led to the use of force.
This is an unfortunate incident for everyone involved. The incident remains under investigation

Absolutely, she wanted to make a spectacle and she did. She should've been punished more severely.

The only one I feel sorry for is the poor policeman that had to deal with it.

None of it had to happen. Just another asshole making things hard on others.

Why did you show him your ID? Was you suspected of committing a crime?

Funny you ask that as when he asked for ID I knew this is where I either cooperate or it gets stupid. I chose to cooperate. I actually handed him my DL and said laughingly, "This is where I say I'm not showing you any ID, I've done nothing wrong!" A little cooperation goes a long way. I didn't need a pissing contest with a 30 year old copper about the law. I also said, "Check me for warrants. You'll find none."

I walked in the gym and tried to cancel my membership. The clerk said she would NOT speak to me without me being masked. At that point I threw up my hands and walked out. Said to the copper, "You tell me she doesn't have a hard on for me?" He agreed. Then he said, "You know, you didn't have to get rude with me about your ID." I said, "What? It was a joke! I was actually handing you my ID as I said it, right?" To which he replied in the affirmative. Very sensitive.

This could have gone sideways incredibly fast. I cooperate with the Police. There was no downside to it in this instance. Flame all you like. I wasn't going to jail and all that comes with it because I wanted to prove a point. I pick my battles and this isn't one of them.

That was difficult to watch. IMHO, neither side should be proud of their behavior.

I don't like the masks mandates and avoid them at all costs, but at least I know to respect the rules when I don't have a choice. Medical and government facilities, I don't have any choice about donning a mask. All other places I'll take my business elsewhere.

Events like this aren't doing the anti-mask movement any favors if you're on private property and end up with a trespass charge.
