Ohio’s inspector general is investigating why a state agency director approved checking the state child-support computer system for information on “Joe the Plumber.”

Helen Jones-Kelly, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, confirmed today that she OK’d the check on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher following the Oct. 15 presidential debate.

She said there were no political reasons for the check on the sudden presidential campaign fixture though the Support Enforcement Tracking System.

Amid questions from the media and others about “Joe the Plumber,” Jones-Kelley said she approved a check to determine if he was current on any ordered child-support payments.

Such information was not and cannot be publicly shared, she said. It is unclear if Wurzelbacher is involved in a child-support case. Reports state that he lives alone with a 13-year-old son.

“Our practice is when someone is thrust quickly into the public spotlight, we often take a look” at them, Jones-Kelley said, citing a case where a lottery winner was found to owe past-due child support. “Our practice is to basically look at what is coming our way.”

Ohio Inspector General Thomas P. Charles confirmed today that he is investigating the incident to determine if “Joe’’s” records were legally accessed by Job and Family Services employees.

The use of a state computer system to search for information on Wurzelbacher is the fourth uncovered by The Dispatch.

DAYTON — Some say Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is an exception to a stereotype about black male success.

But Parity Inc. co-chairwoman Helen Jones-Kelly said the senator from Illinois is just one example of a strong African American male leader.

"We have outstanding African American men – men of color – throughout this country," she said.

Ten Dayton area men were honored Thursday, Feb. 28, for their contributions to the community during Parity Inc.'s The Top Ten African American Male Luncheon.

Parity Inc., an organization dedicated to fostering racial equality, hosted the 17th annual program at Sinclair Community College's David H. Ponitz Center.

Now if the situation had been reversed..... And Joe the Plumber had caught McCain in a compromising gaffee that revealed he was a socialist...... And a republican had used state computers to snoop on Joe, the MSM would be running updates on it every 15 minutes and devote whole shows to it during prime time .......

Sort of like the punk son of some democratic politician who hacked into Palins' personal email ............. That story was quickly buried; huh?

citing a case where a lottery winner was found to owe past-due child support

Now, I could see where a check for back child support would be in order for a person who suddenly was due a large amount of money from the government - after all, this is common practice for those owed Fed & State tax refunds -

but, there was no reason to check on Joe Wurtzelbacher - none at all.

[FONT=Verdana,Arial]its the whole dot.gov mentalilty.........take from everywhere - anyone - everything

same as big oil. Oil makes 8 cents profit on a gallon, but the dot.gov charges forty cents tax per gallon. Oil works for the 8 cents, dot.gov figures its entitled to take 40

We go to work, so that the dot.gov can take the first days wages. days 2-5 are used to pay taxes on every purchase, holding and meal..........the only break we get is if we go in debt on a mortgage 1040 form credit or donate to charity and church.............and you can only share income if the dot.gov lets you keep some!

For a frightening preview of the consequences of questioning Barack Obama consider the case of Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher, aka Joe the Plumber.
While the ACLU, shrieking right to privacy, chastises the government for legally tapping a person's phone in the interests of protecting its citizens, they have been strangely silent about the numerous Ohio government workers who plumbed the state's computers seeking personal information on dangerous private citizen Joe the Plumber after he had the audacity to question the Democratic presidential nominee. Little Green Footballs has a round up
of a couple of these illegal searches on Plumber Joe.

Helen Jones-Kelly, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, confirmed today that she OK’d the check on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher following the Oct. 15 presidential debate.

Sure. Oh, and by a totally amazing coincidence

Helen Jones-Kelly also happens to be a maximum $2300 contributor to the Barack Obama campaign.

Proving their abilities to spot the country's real enemies and investigate and out them

Toledo Mayor Carty Finkbeiner admitted yesterday that a member of the media made the request of the Toledo Police Department for Joe ‘the Plumber’ Wurzelbacher’s records, NewsTalk 1370 WSPD is reporting.

The police clerk who so willingly complied with the media is now being charged with Gross Misconduct. The cowardly media person who was so willing to violate Wurzelbacher's privacy for some juicy non scoop has not been identified--probably claiming the right to privacy.
