Rush has made the point that Trump may have been starting to feel the effects of Covid during the first debate. Hard to say for sure, but if that's the case, we may see a different Trump this time.
It's hard to see Biden changing his strategy. He probably expects to be able to "shut up man" or "come on man" his way through 90 minutes. But we could see a much different debate tonight.
That said, I do expect the usual moderator dirty tricks and favoritism, along with the general questions being about things many voters don't give a rat's rear end about (ie, climate change).
We've come a long way from even the 80s, when the worst we had to worry about was slanted questions. Now it's practically a whole debate team - media and Dem teaming up, and not trying to be subtle about it.

I already voted for him, and for all Texas repubs that were available. If there was a dem-only for a slot, I didn't vote for that slot. My active participation in the 2020 cycle is complete.

That's for sure! I remember watching some of those debates and then writing papers about them for various classes. The last debate had seasoned debate coaches shaking their heads.
I've got some local red wine chilling for tonight. Just have to decide what to have with it. Popcorn? Cheese and crackers? Both?

A number of us have said in previous debate threads that Trump should stop interrupting Biden because it allows Biden to stop and gather his thoughts.
I love the 2-minute mute. Let's see if Joe can get through his memorized answers without any serious brain cramps. My guess is he can't.
Even outside those 2 minute muted times, Trump would be smart to not interrupt Biden at all. Let the headline be Joe's stunning lack of mental function.

Yep, I did the same. I was disappointed at how many unopposed Dem judges there were in my county, but on those I just didn't vote.

Perhaps the Founders were myopic too when referencing them as a warning about what would happen to this Republic should we forget those broad brush strokes and where this people's trust, obedience and practice truly belonged if they wanted to preserve liberty.

Take those two minutes and pound him hard!! Make his beady eyes bug out so that when it's bidens term again he does a live and in living color meltdown on TV. DD loves egg nog and I usually serve it with Kentucky bourbon, ice and a cinnamon stick.
Evan Williams bourbon is just fine as a mixer. I think it is better and cheaper than Jack Daniels.
On the rocks, I'll go with Makers Mark FWIW.

I have an online doctor appointment in the morning so I probably can't watch live (it starts at 2 am) but I'm thinking of setting an alarm to make sure I get the full repeat at 9 am (on Irish TV).
I really hope that Donald can control himself a bit better this time, look "presidential," bring Joe's free accuser as his "social guest" (that genius), and just let Joe be Joe (and hope he goes off message, gets angry or otherwise is obviously reading his lines and flubs up.
Understand, I'm not totally happy with either candidate this time, but I'd rather have a sane person with some experience (even if he is a bit of a showman) than someone who is senile and who may be not only totally corrupted but by CHINA?
Not to mention Kamala's husband working for a Chinese firm on copyright issues?...what the ...this makes Watergate look like a tempest in a teapot (and I don't mean Teapot Dome) by comparison - if the alleged stuff is true.
And just having the MSM report it is "not a story" isn't an answer that any thinking person, no matter their political background should be willing to entertain.
Do your jobs as reporters and tell us who, when, who, how if you think it is a non-story or a hoax, and just shouting the "Russians are Coming" is not an answer either?

Prediction - a 2 minute time limit is going to put pressure on Joe to perform in that amount of time. Seems to me, Alzheimer/Dementia/Stroke patients have a few issues performing within a specific, limited amount of time. Bet there's some leeway, for the old man, if he stumbles a bit.

I still say they keep him effed up on meds at all other times, except debates. To make him "appear" to have dementia. Then when charges are brought up on him, they can pull the "not of sound mind" card. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Heard on the radio today ... they were interviewing young people if they planned on watching the debates tonight. Everyone said no. Never watched one ... will never watch one ... none planned on watching. This isn’t a way to reach the young. Expect there won’t be debates after 2020. It’s not our world anymore.
