obama wants his portrait posted in all schools

I heard this on the radio on my way home from work, so no way to link it and sorry if it's already been posted.
He wants his portrait on all school walls nation wide, there is already an obama stamp ready to be issued.

Works fast don't he? Wonder if he will eventually have his life size portrait plastered all over our city buildings and town squares. :kk1:

hmmm, I hadn't heard that one yet,

In thinking back to my own school years (and that is WAY farther back then I want to admit, hell I still remember "duck and cover"), I do remember that a normal size picture of the current president of the United States was usually up on a wall somewhere, the principals office or something like that. If thats all it is after Jan 20? thats ok.

Now if he wants 10 foot posters all over the place. NAHHHHHHH...no way. Lets see how this develops.

That said, has anyone ever been in a school where the president's picture wasn't hanging up? Is that just a southern thing?

there was always a picture of the current pres in the office of all the schools i attended...

I don't recall seeing a picture of the current President in any of my schools.

And Fred, I don't have a written source anywhere, and yes, I remember the Presidents pictures hanging on the walls when I was a kid many many years ago. Not so sure about todays schools. It's the fact that his insistance on this being done before he is even sworn in shows me how pushy the guy is. ( not meaning the pics be hung now - just that he's talking about it now) Hope that makes sense.

The only picture hanging in my principle's office was one of John Wayne. I never saw a picture of a president in my school. This was during the 80's, and we all LOVED Reagan, btw. I guess John Wayne was just loved a little more. :shr:

Maybe he will consider any school that receives federal govenment funds to be also a government building....

In every govt office I have been in there is usually a portrait of whomever the governor or president or whatever.

I remember the pres portraits in school-usually in the principles office whuch I was invited to visit on occaision.

Now, we do need verification but the problem is not that it's done-that's pretty standard. The problem is "He" is saying to have it done.

How many U.S. presidents do you recall making such a statement?

As was noted-the Marxists and petty dictator do that shit.

I heard the same thing commented on during the Rush Limbaugh show.

I think he said that the requirement to have the President's photo on the wall was dropped some time back in the 1960s. It started back in the 1930s when FDR's photo was put up on school walls.

I doubt that he said any such thing. This sounds like typical rightwing radio, "OMG Nazi Antichrist Marxist Obama is going to demand that our kids WORSHIP him any moment now!"

If you're getting your NAMO fix from Limbaugh etc, it's a good idea to pay attention to the quiet little details.

What can I say? Seven years of this place has made me a doubting Thomas --- I need to stick my hand in (figuratively speaking) before I'll believe a lot of things. :D

If obamma does get his pic on school walls, I suspect that by the end of his first 100 days in office the teachers will have to tape on a dunce cap on him. It's only been 3 days since the election yet we've seen one leadership failure after another. This incompetent idiot will soon have his middle name changed to 'moron'. :lol:
