Now that commies have made their hardcore censorship moves, in addition to closing out left-wing controlled social media accounts, will the deplorables cancel cable, satellite and internet TV?

Will deplorables stop paying good money for the privilege of bringing left-wing propaganda into their homes?

Or will the deplorables whine about how they would like to act on their convictions but they just can't do without muh TV?

What about NFL, NBA, Disney Resorts, Concerts, Movies, etc.
Will the deplorables drop all forms of entertainment that are controlled by and directly fund left-wing operations against them?

Thoughts?

Some will. Many others don't realize that those things are Leftist, and therefore won't. And still others will take the position that you described, and will be unwilling to give up the few shows they enjoy.

I have 2 sets of concert tickets they will NOT refund. After that, no more. Sad, too, I have been to hundreds of concerts.

Yep.

What we’re doing is not specifically in response to current events, but a combination of wanting to save money by cutting the cord and putting it to cable.

You can still find out more or less what is going on with cable like the market and such. And TV makes our own situation bearable and the days less long. So no I won't boycott TV, shopping on Amazon or anything else for that matter. It does no good at all. The last time I boycotted anything was a magazine I subscribed to back in the 80's over the Estrogen drug made from horse pea where the horses were kept in horrible conditions. I cancelled my subscription along with a letter for all the good it did.

We have satellite internet so we cannot stream anything so we have kept directv. We tried using an antenna and it was awful. We only have the basic plan which allows dh to watch westerns and me to watch reruns of old tv shows. We almost never look at the news although when we do it’s Oann.

I cancelled twitter although I never tweeted anything and I deleted instagram.

I found my life is much better without the constant bombardment of inane commercials and the twisted left-wing value system that is baked into the programming.

I have internet (obviously) but I block the crud out of advertising. If I cannot get a site to load without enabling just a few scripts I just move on, whatever that site has to offer I do not need it that badly.

Antenna TV here, as well, and the programming is restricted to weather and DIY shows.

cable is gone, dropping the internet might be tough though. Either way when fishing weather gets here I'll not really need either

We'll be dropping DISH when we move. Will have to investigate streaming services, so hubby can watch his old tv shows (MASH, Gunsmoke, Happy Days, etc). We currently have a "$99 a month for life" deal that covers landline, internet and DISH. It actually dropped our bill when we added DISH!

People who criticize others for watching an occasional TV program dont understand what it's like to work so hard physically every day that when you finally get to sit down after supper, you are too tired to even focus your eyes to read. Granted, I almost always have a quilt or other project in my lap if I sit down to watch something with hubby, but I never feel we're slackers if we aren't producing the entire 24 hours a day...

This too shall pass.
I've never had most of that stuff. Can't stand to watch TV. I do, obviously, have internet. And I have a streaming tv service, but it's from Answers in Genesis, a Christian ministry. Actually was a gift from one of my daughters so youngest would have something to watch other than her limited stock of DVD's, which she's watched until we are both tired of them.

ETA: If I'm really tired, too tired to read (which does happen once in a while, but is rare!), I listen to music. I do have a lot of that. Or we might listen to an audio book.

Cut the cable (DISH) 2-3 years ago, went ROKU

It's been a challenge as my internet degraded almost to unusable as the company took government money to build high speed internet in rural areas. They erected towers and massively over sold their capability. (Take the money and run)

Last week a new company took over and I'm back up to approx 27gbs down and 12 up ish.

That is nice

Everyone has their battle lines drawn at different places. I've repeatedly told what ours are, so I won't repeat them here.

For us, we do watch OANN, a handful of tv shows, weather on our local news station, all on Direct TV. At the end of the day, when all chores are done, and we get away from Tb2k, it's nice to be able to relax, drink a little wine, and watch a little tv.

No one has to all do the same thing, but when everyone pitches in to do their part, it hopefully matters.

Withdraw Consent when and where you can which usually calls for sacrifice.

I doubt there will be an en masse move to cancel anything. The old " I hate every word you say and will defend with my life your right to say it " American value has long been waning, and in truth is probably dead even now.

I turned off the TV almost 4 years ago, not to "starve the beast" but because I value my mind and chose not to be programed. That said, however, I do watch some movies (dvd. utube), knowing full well that my preferred genre (classics) is attempting to program me every bit as much as the modern crap is...but I like those values, sets, settings, and costumes, as well as the intelligence and wit, so I let them.

There are a subset of Americans who've been focused on being self sufficient, starving the beast, and just :: shrugging ::
that was the ten year plan here, too, but it's been an ideal, not a religion. I still bought my peignoir sets, seeds and shoes online this morning, I'll be on youtube this afternoon doing my tai chi, and this evening listening to music. I "could" grow my own and my livestock's food, knit and sew my own clothing, heat, and handle water and waste and make a rude and basic surviving here detached from all outside inputs- but why? That time may arrive. If and when, I will roll with it.

I also will still use twitter to gain access to first hand reports of the world's geo political situation. I'll of course be here in between chores, reading and responding to cosmo/sitcom level threads along with chatting and keeping up with weightier issues. So Yes, and no. I've long ago cut the cords that matter, and deliberately leave other cords intact.

They need to ask themselves! What price for your country?

Do you also ask that question of those who still shop at Walmart, Target, Starbucks, Kroger, Walgreen's, buy Gillette products, Amazon, Sam's, Costco, etc.? I know some women/men who shop at those places two and three times a week, and won't give them up. Just keep feeding the systems that are out to destroy us.

Like I said earlier. Everyone has their own battle lines drawn. Everyone is called to do something, but not all are required to do the same things. Giving up ALL tv is only one choice out of many.

I am not going to cancel anything. I have a choice of what I watch. With cable and internet I can choose to watch on demand whatever I like. I can watch NEWSMAX.
Without it I would never get any real news.

We're a minority. No way almost all of America is going to throw a fit and cancel everything. As soon as the -vid is cured the stadium's will fill back up and stores will too.

They will be the same group that will gladly take an ID card or tattoo to buy and sell.

You do what you need to for your house and fight the fight you can.

Like us, we're in the sticks, Veriz*n barely covers us and we only have cell phones. I hate Vzn and what they stand for but don't really have a choice, besides no phone at all. Once I leave IT I'll go to a less reliable but working phone.

Why would you drop the internet?? That is the one thing that keeps some of us connected. There would be no TB2K without it would there? I have not had cable or satellite in years, can really pick up any local channels out where I am either. The only way I give up internet is if it is shut down.
