CORONA Novavax To Sell US Government 1.5 Million More Doses Of COVID-19 Vaccine

This is a HUGE SCREAMING DOT! The Biden administration (after saying it would discontinue buying COVID vaccines) is contracting with NovaVax, the only non-mRNA vaccine I know of still available commercially in the UK and parts of Europe. I'm not counting vaccines made in Russia or China. I took Astra-Zenica (which seems to have died out). It was also a non-mRNA vaccine. I had two doses and a normal immune response. As far as I know, I did not catch COVID unless they had vaccines or tests.

I'm guessing that the Biden Administration has finally recognized that mRNA vaccines (and their support for them) were an enormous mistake. One, they will continue to either try to bury the story or do the "we didn't know" number and hope the public doesn't come after them with torches and pitchforks!

Side note: Novavax is supposed to be available in Ireland, but when I asked about it, my GP's office said, "we can't get any." They were only "allowed" to get the mRNA vaccines (this was months ago). - Melodi

Novavax To Sell US Government 1.5 Million More Doses Of COVID-19 Vaccine

Novavax has secured a vaccine deal to provide the U.S. government with 1.5 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine, a latecomer to a market where the biggest buyers have stopped buying.

The Maryland-based biotech company reported on Monday that it has agreed with the U.S. government to modify an existing contract, but did not disclose how much it will be paid for the vaccine doses.

In addition, the amended deal will support development of smaller dose vials, strain selection in line with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recommendations, and a “smooth transition to the commercial market,” according to the company.

The move also indicates that the Biden administration still seeks to diversify its COVID vaccine arsenal with non-mRNA shots. Novavax is a protein subunit vaccine, meaning that it directly injects a version of the spike protein of the virus that causes COVID infection into the body to stimulate production of antibodies.

By contrast, Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines work by introducing mRNA into the recipient’s muscle cells, which then produce copies of the spike protein to trigger an immune response.

“This agreement acknowledges the need to offer the American people a diverse COVID-19 vaccine portfolio and underscores the importance of Novavax’s partnership with the U.S. government to ensure continuous access to a protein-based option as part of public health measures,” said John Jacobs, Novavax president and chief executive.

In July 2022, the FDA authorized emergency use of Novavax in individuals 18 years of age and older. In October of that year, the FDA approved its use as a booster for those who took mRNA shots from Pfizer or Moderna as their primary vaccination. The U.S. government has since bought 3.2 million doses.

The Biden administration has signaled that it would soon stop buying COVID vaccines, treatments, and diagnostic tests. According to Dr. Ashish Jha, the White House COVID response coordinator, the shift might take place as early as this summer or fall.

“All I can say, because I literally don’t know, we don’t have the specific dates, is that it’s going to happen sometime over the summer into early fall. And you’ll see that transition, and we’ll kind of give people as much notice as we can possibly give,” Jha said earlier this month during a webinar hosted by the University of California, San Francisco.

Japan Discontinues Novavax Deal
Japanese public health officials, on the other hand, have canceled an order of nearly 142 million doses of Novavax vaccines, sold in the Asian country under the brand name Nuvaxovid.

In 2021, the Japan government agreed to purchase 150 million doses of Nuvaxovid manufactured locally by pharmaceutical giant Takeda. In a report filed on Feb. 10 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, however, Takeda said Japan no longer wants to buy the remaining 141.76 million doses.

“Available doses of Nuvaxovid already supplied to the market can still be used as an option for individuals who cannot receive a bivalent omicron mRNA vaccine, or who wish to receive a recombinant protein vaccine,” said Takeda, which is also contracted to make and distribute Moderna vaccines in Japan.

I will bump this one for the afternoon and evening crowd in the US. This is EXTREMELY important and is getting buried in all the other news (there has been way too much excitement for nearly two weeks now!)

At least i like the name No Vax.
I like that it is NOT mRNA, but as far as I know (and being advertised from the start as) an old-fashioned vaccine. It may not work any better than any of the others, but it probably isn't going to have horrific side effects for most people. I said probably because I don't know how it was tested, and all vaccines injure some people; it is a cost-benefit thing. But the cost is supposed to be how many people don't get sick (or less sick) vs. how many injuries happen.

The Cost is NOT supposed to be how much profit Big Pharma Companies can make before it is declared unsafe and taken off the market. This won't be the first time it happened, but potentially it may be the most horrific.

And how long have the clinical trials been going on.....?
That's a good question, which is why I mentioned it in my other post. We don't know, and we don't know how well it works against the new strains of the virus. That's why very few human vaccines for ANY CORONA virus have worked very well. The new FIP vaccine in cats shows promise, proving that it may be possible to do this, some of the time.

But if this is an actual non-mRNA vaccine, at least it won't force people into what is fundamentally a gene manipulation experiment (which mRNA technology, at this point, is). That doesn't mean it is "safe" or "effective."

My whole point in posting this article was that this is a highly underreported story suggesting that the BIDEN Handlers KNOW they have made an enormous mistake by trying to mandate a vaccine using an untested technology. When it looked like the vaccines might be mandatory here (Germany came within about a week of trying that), I asked about Novavax because it looked like the better of two options.

I am not recommending anyone take it or any other vaccine; that is a personal medical decision. I am saying that this is the first seriously concrete step I've seen this administration take towards trying to dump their official relationship with Pfizer and Modunra quietly. Next step, more comments from people like "Ochie" along the lines of "we needed more research" or "it was an emergency and we did what we thought was best at the time."

Just an FYI, it is just as bad as the mRNA, and (also like the mRNA) provides little to no protection.

It's most likely more political grifting.
They may or may not ever produce it and it if it is made it will be thrown in the trash.

Someone here with more stock market knowledge should look and see what politicians have a shat load of novavax stock.

Google "Who owns Novavax?" and tell me how comfortable that makes you feel.

Then, factor in the fact "Novavax is an American company ......": but seems to do all its manufacturing in India.

Novavax is financed by both public and private investors, of which approximately 50% of the free float shares are held by institutional investors.[18]

Novavax is funded by a mix of private and public investment.[18] In 2015, Novavax received a US$89 million research grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to support the development of a vaccine against human respiratory syncytial virus for infants via maternal immunization.[19][20][21][22]

In May 2020, Novavax received US$384 million from the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations to fund early-stage evaluation in healthy adults of the company's COVID-19 vaccine candidate NVX-CoV2373 and to develop resources in preparation for large-scale manufacturing, if the vaccine proves successful.[23] CEPI had already invested $4 million in March.[23]

On July 7, 2020, during the Donald Trump administration, the company was awarded a US$1.6 billion loan from the United States government from Operation Warp Speed program to cover the testing, commercialization and production of a potential coronavirus vaccine in the United States, with a goal of delivering 100 million doses by January 2021.[24]

Um. Follow the money. Look who is funding Novavax. Since 2015 almost entirely Covid 19 related. Basically a company already "connected" at the hip to government, but expanded greatly since then.

While the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations would ordinarily list as "private" - one imagines a world of "grantsmanship" (government) in that private world subset.

And it was supposedly released in England and Ireland over a year ago (not the USA), but my doctor couldn't get it. Even when it looked like the vax might be mandatory. Astra Zenica caused some people to be vaccine injured as well (mostly in the UK, and some of them did get compensation). But I took it (to avoid the early mRNA vaccines), had a normal immune response, and had no issues with it.

I am not surprised this vaccine is also causing problems and may very well be not worth the risk of taking it; again, I just found it fascinating that quietly and with almost no publicity; the Biden administration was actively buying non-mRNA vaccines after refusing to allow ANYTHING else in the US (and trying to demand everyone be vaccinated).

Good point! I missed that one, I suspect either this is more money laundering or they think they will be doing something with it if they are allowed to get away with it.
