No hope for all of N. America.....

with attitudes like this in Canada too.......this is from my sister-in-law and she would definitely be called an "uninformed voter" (if she was in USA).
She is all for "World Peace" too. :p

She knows I cannot stand the man, cannot even look at him, let alone listen to him, but I have done a lot of reading about him and have told her to wait 6months and see if he still is the Miracle Man she hopes he is. I love her dearly, but she sees through CNN's eyes, so that ain't good! Unfortunately she feels she has to convert me - good luck with that.

"Obama, Obama, rah, rah. rah!!!! I had tears running down my face when he won. I have watched CNN day and night for the last few weeks. .....watched his acceptance speech. Thank goodness.....it was soooo good. I think he is so smart, and young and fresh!! He is becoming President at such a down time in the economy and all, it will be a great challenge for him. Sure hope he can do what he says, and get things turned around. I'm sure it won't be from lack of trying anyway. And John McCain was so gracious in his last speech too. He is a good man too, and I really believe he loves America, but don't know if he could have taken all the stress of what lies ahead at his age. I know I sure couldn't.

I have seen 2 historic events in the making now. When I was in grade 10, I saw the 1st man on the moon (John Glen). We got to watch it on TV at school. And now this election! Wow ......what can I say. It was so touching, and exciting, and powerful!! And it is not even my country, but I am so proud of how everyone came out to vote in droves. It was so patriotic! Even the young people who usually don't bother to show up.......(that brought tears to my eyes too.)

I think United States is going to be seen in a much different light now. I think this will knock out all the negativity it had before. I sure hope so anyway. Our countries should be working together to help each other. (Yes, you say.....in a perfect world.)"

She's clearly another braindead lib who thinks that now that the Obamessiah is in it will all be bunnies and rainbows and unicorns sh*tting skittles and M&Ms.

:lkick:

Just wait until the entitlement crowd doesn't get their handouts and riots, the economy goes completely in the tank and she loses her job because of his tax policies, her 401K drops by 90%, her bank goes under, food prices double because the cost of Obama gov't has trashed the value of the currency, the cost of ammo or the banning of guns prevents her husband from hunting for food, we get hit with another terrorist attack, and then she gets held up at gunpoint by one of the Obama voters who didn't get their check and she can't defend herself because her saviour banned pistols and concealed carry.

Here lady, have a skittle. Just wipe the unicorn sh*t off it.

Laurane, maybe you need to ask why we just didn't pick Ashton Kutcher as president if that is all it takes to qualify!

The OP was quoting her deluded sibling.

Or, have I mis-interpreted the OP's post? Yanno, that old 'reading comprehension' thang?

Ashton Kutcher is smart???

young and fresh maybe, but after living with that old woman for years, I dunno :p

My relative is getting on, a bit like me, so she probably just remembered history a bit the wrong way. She knew someone stepped on the moon.

That is why I told her she needs to "ask", as in ask her sister. I know Laurane and I never thought it was her that said that!

Laurane, he is smart enough to latch on to that old lady and dig into her pockets. Most likely he's after the young daughters.

I feel your pain. People I care about that I consitter family also cling to Obama. All you can do is hope she wises up. But if she doesn't then that is her path. And yes it will continue to hurt dearly because you love her dearly. You lead a liberal to thought, but you can't make `em think. All you can do is show your side and if it don't stick at least you tried to be there for her.

BTW, I am glad that somebody from a different country agees that Obama is not a good thing. And again, I am sorry you have to go through this.

I was in Saskatoon for a relatives funeral in August. Any family member or friend under 50 years old expressed pretty much the same opinion of support for Obama.

Most were astounded I was not an Obama supporter.

My great uncle (over 80yrs) thinks Obama sucks. My uncle, a school teacher in Alberta thinks that any progressive democracy will do more and and take more responsibilities to care for it's citizens. Another words move toward a nanny-state. I called him on it, he laid out why this worked for Canada being sparsely populated and physically huge. Yea well Canada is a younger nation than USA and it simply wasn't in our disposition.

If I have to venture a guess if you had an world-wide international vote would go for Obama. Why? just a guess the socialist leanings of Obama are consistent with most countries current political situation.

Laurane, I think I understand how you feel. I am shaken to my core by the ones close to me who voted for O.

Even in Bible study (10-15 people,) when I brought up the possibility of O=A/C they thought I'd lost my marbles. The priest said "at least he's a fresh face." YIKES!

Ashton Kutcher is smart?

haha -- that's exactly what I was thinking.

And why does EVERYONE feel the need to go on and on about how gracious and wonderful and statesmanlike McCain was in his concession speech? They feel like they can say that because he was talking about their guy in a nice way. But they treated him like dirt NO MATTER WHAT HE SAID a week ago.
