Our local Meijer Grocery advertised boneless chicken for $1.59 a pound. I had been waiting for a good price to stock up on chicken, just in case the bird flu comes our way. The ad just came out today, and boy was I surprised to see the whole row of coolers completely empty. Like a good prepper, I immediately asked for a rain check for 10 packages. The young cashieer looked a little surprised, but I got my rain check. There was another Meijer, just a few miles away, so off we went to check it out. This store was low on the chicken, but I got 6 packages and 4 of chicken legs for 59 cents per pound. And I can still use the rain check for later.
Don't know if this means a run on chicken, due to the BF threat, or just a good price. Thought I would let everyone know.
