LARGO, FL (WFLA) - Largo police are investigating the death of a 32-year-old man from Nigeria found inside his residence at the Bay Pointe Apartments on Roosevelt Blvd. Tuesday morning.
There were initial concerns and precautions taken regarding a possible Ebola case, but paramedics and police soon ruled that out as a possibility due to the time frame of the man's residency in Largo.
It was the second precautionary case in Largo involving the possibility of Ebola since last week. In both cases, paramedics ruled out Ebola as the cause of illness.
Largo Fire Chief David Mixon says Mukhtar Kyari, who lived at the Bay Pointe Apartments, failed to show up for classes at the nearby National Aviation Academy for the second day so instructors asked police to check on him.
Police say the international student had a perfect attendance record at the academy and was last seen alive and well Friday or Saturday.
Officers conducted a welfare check and found the man dead inside his apartment Tuesday morning with no apparent signs of foul play.
The official cause of death hasn't yet been determined. The Largo police investigation continues.
