Below is off another forum. It is on Saddam Hussein. I am pro Saddam as I am pro Gaddafi. By this I mean they are the better offering. You can't talk one sided on such matters. I get sick of hearing Oh, he is so bad we should get rid of him when there is nothing better on offer.

Watch countries that are always having revolutions and see how their economy goes. People die in revolutions the same as under dictatorships. However under good dictatorships the economy stays stable or advances.

The alternatives are either a certain amount of violence to attain stability, under someone like Saddam, or no strong central authority and violence on a continuing basis.

Gadaffi is a horror; a vicious tyrant who was only restrained by his fear of US military power. Now that fear is gone. If he stays we will have another powerful, destabilizing regime as an enemy. If he goes we may have a chance.

Yes, the Big Zero's statements (especially considering how he waffled on Mubarak) do seem... scripted. I'm sure he has a good excuse, after all he is only following orders. :dvl1:

CC, I thoroughly understand why you do not advocate revolution.
