CRIME New Police Video Emerges of ‘Jogger’ Ahmaud Arbery Apprehended for Allegedly Stealing a Television

Would *I* Lie???
Pretty easily to see who's entrenched where. This guy was ex-leo and NO record of any racial mis-doings in his 60 years in the deep black south has surfaced.. and trust me, they looking HARD.

They were arguably "questioning and following" ahmaud when he attacked them. They were tracking him for police and had made NO citizens arrest. They had not grabbed him. HE ran over and grabbed the gun. At that point he A. Initiated physical contact. B. Became armed, and C. committed and armed felony. Open carry is legal and if the guys hadn't pointed guns at him, which the video doesn't show, they were "tracking a suspect by vehicle." At the point he grabbed his lawful firearm, the Jr. had every right to believe he was in fear/ a fight for his life.

It's evident that we are entrenched in our views, but when we lay people have to argue the semantics of when and how you can protect your neighborhood (and the millineaux video explains this guy new ahmaud PERSONALLY through dealings at the DA....so knew WHO he was tracking/following)... the former cop and his son did not chase him down to kill him. That makes no sense. The chain of events that lead to his death were started and escalated at every step by him. Just like tail-light guy, Mike brown"hands up dont shoot", NY "I can't breath" guy, travon-skittles'beast mode"... they all could have followed the law, not preyed on and attacked people, and not been now serving their highest purpose as maggot food. Don't attack people. Every fight with a gun is a gunfight. If you attacked someone with a gun, YOU are now "armed with a gun" and can be killed forthrightly. This is law everywhere. It doesn't need to be written down. If you are physically attacked while carrying a gun you must shoot on contact(unless you are confident in your skills to disarm otherwise.. which few people are.). It is YOUR ONLY OPTION unless you want to be killed. Why are they attacking you? When will they stop? Better start shooting. If you are unarmed, and at a superior disadvantage, run like hell. Preferably not down the road where people with V8s will trump your kenyan genes.

The 2 guys who did it are going to hang because Arbery was not armed and wasn't and didn't commit any crime to justify them stopping him.
One video commentator puts the struggle to "command of the weapon." Aubrey apparently grabbed the gun and "jerked it" causing the gun to go off. By Aubrey's action it became a "weapon of shared ownership."

According to that analysis.

If that is the case - who pulled the trigger? The human with his finger on the trigger or the other human with two hands on the barrel?

Dunno - sounds like each deserve their day in court. Don't be surprised if the White humans get off given the "extemporizing circumstance."

Just quoting Dobbin for reference.

On Fox someone read the first DA's account, which I heard. The perp did grab the gun by the barrel, and jerked, which is evidenced in the video of the charge going through his hand, at the time of the jerk.

Whether the perp commited a felony will probably be for the courts to decide, the DA originally thought so, and thus, IN GA (remember different states have different laws) citizens were justified in their actions.

Now that it's gone all BLM. Will the truth ever come out?

The official autopsy determined that Arbery was shot three times with the shotgun. One gunshot wounded the upper left chest, one gunshot wounded the lower middle chest, and one gunshot caused a "deep, gaping" graze wound to the right wrist. There were no signs of alcohol or drugs in Arbery's body.[59]

‘A great embarrassment’: records offer insight into Ahmaud Arbery suspect

Gregory McMichael lost his power of arrest in 2006 after failing to complete sufficient basic law enforcement training

Gregory McMichael, the white retired law enforcement officer who helped chase down and kill Ahmaud Arbery, an unarmed 25-year-old African American man, failed to complete sufficient basic law enforcement training for years, a deficiency that led to him losing his power of arrest.

McMichael, who worked as an investigator in the Brunswick judicial circuit district attorney’s office from 1995 to 2019, lost his power of arrest in January 2006 for failing to complete the required 20 hours of training the previous year, according to personnel records obtained by the Guardian.

He continued to be deficient in his training for the years that followed and didn’t get the waiver required to reinstate his power of arrest authority. Some of the training McMichael lacked included required courses on use of force and firearms.

The personnel records, which have been reported by local media, come to light as McMichael faces murder charges for chasing down Arbery, who was jogging through a residential neighborhood. McMichael and his son Travis claimed they believed Arbery looked like a suspect in a string of neighborhood break-ins.

The records also shed light on McMichael’s close relationship with Jackie Johnson, the district attorney for the Brunswick judicial circuit, who recused herself from the case and is now subject to a state investigation of how the case was handled.

The pair were eventually charged after state investigators were brought on to the case following the emergence of video showing Arbery’s death.

Johnson’s office declined to comment.

“We are confident that any investigation will ultimately show that our office acted appropriately under the circumstances,” her office said in a statement. “There is a public misconception about this case due to false allegations against our office by those with an agenda.”

In Georgia, law enforcement officers are required to complete 20 hours of training each year, including certain mandated courses, to maintain their power of arrest – a critical authorization that gives officers legal authority to do essential law enforcement functions.

“Without those powers of arrest, you have no further or no additional power than any other citizen has,” said Mike Ayers, the executive director of the Georgia Peace Officers Standards and Training council (Post), which oversees the certification.

But McMichael didn’t alert his supervisors to the deficiency until 2014, according to the records. The problem was so severe, Post considered suspending him indefinitely. He was stripped of his gun and departmental vehicle while he applied to the state for a waiver.

In an April 2014 memo to Johnson, Mark Melton, another investigator in her office, warned that because McMichael lost his power of arrest “any improper actions by Greg would fall on Greg, the district attorney’s office, and you personally.”

McMichael ultimately had his certification restored. But Johnson, the district attorney, wrote to the agency responsible for overseeing the certification process that the episode was “a great embarrassment to me and Investigator McMichael”.

“It has negatively impacted my office and I have taken measures to ensure that this doesn’t happen,” Johnson added, stating she was grateful that the state’s law enforcement standards and training [Post] director had reinstated the license after she met him in person to lobby on McMichael’s behalf.

In February 2019, months before he retired, McMichael again lost his certification from Post for failing to complete the required training in 2018. Weeks later, his supervisors reassigned him to work as a staff liaison in the Camden county district attorney’s office and noted that he would “not engage in any activity that would be construed as being law enforcement in nature”. His supervisors noted he would not carry a badge or firearm in his new role.

The records highlight the multiple medical and personal issues that McMichael cited for missing various training programs. In a letter authored by McMichael to explain his absences between 2005 and 2010 and request a training exemption, he states that in 2006, following a heart attack, he experienced clinical depression.

“The depression made me unable at times to focus on important tasks … I immediately sought treatment, which continues to this day,” he writes.

He writes that in 2009 he and his wife filed for bankruptcy and later that year he experienced a second heart attack: “I believe that this heart attack was brought on in large part by the stress that I was experiencing both at home and at work.”

McMichael’s personnel file, which stretches back to the year he was employed by the Brunswick district attorney’s office, also gives insights into his general performance as an employee and other training he received on the job.

For example, the records indicate McMichael completed only one training course in the use of de-escalation tactics, but completed four courses devoted to “understanding Islamist terrorism” and another on “introduction to terrorism”.

His annual reviews from superiors present a mixed track record and his overall performance is never rated above “good”. One November 2000 review notes: “Needs to improve his organization and prioritization of his workload.” Multiple reports describe a lack of organizational skills.

Look grasping at straws in his past doesn't and won't help the two guys who stopped and shot him.
Everyone pretty much knows Arbery was not the squeaky clean guy the liberal media is trying to make him out to be. He was pretty much your average young black male with the arrests and crimes a lot of young black males have in their past.
You still can't stop him in the street while brandishing a shotgun and a .357 and end up shooting him.
The 2 guys who did it are going to hang because Arbery was not armed and wasn't and didn't commit any crime to justify them stopping him. The two guys acted like they were cops, and they weren't.
If you are a private citizen and carry a weapon, you sure as hell need to know when to pull it out and when not to. This was a "not to" situation.

Arbery was almost certainly a dirtbag, but you can't go around stopping and shooting other people just because you think they are a dirtbag. It might be nice to think about, but it sure as hell makes you a dirt bag too.

Vestige, we know.

This one is about a fundamental rule of law though. Or is there no law? I guess the jury will decide, eh?

Heck I do the same thing with my mandatory training. I take all kinds of strange courses. It expands my knowledge base. Then again I don't take less than required nor do I just take the bare minimum required to stay certified. I take 2-3x what is required.

:applaud:
Too bad about that. Since we have established that many here are assho*es, why not be a dirt bag also.

Seriously, in Brunswick the biggest problem we have are the petty "skating the line criminals". They cause a great deal of damage, but often are let out of the system as it is too "crowded".

Example, a person will come in to a store and steal a beer. They will walk out, but see a police officer. They will quickly put it down and walk away. You would consider it a crime. Here? Nope, the police will not act on it. They say since you have your property, there was no crime. That is where the TV video comes in. Since he dropped the TV, "no" crime had been committed.

The people here are well versed on this crap. They know to the 99th degree just how far they can go and still not get arrested and if they do get arrested, if the crime is under $1000, the will ALWAYS get probation. Even if they have 10 other counts of probation. This is from police officers I have as customers.

If they do get seen with stolen merch they will 110% of the time, run. As they run they dump the merch and when the cops find them and they always do, there is "no evidence" once again, so they are let go.

We have here what I call "walkers". These are the people who walk neighborhoods and look at everything. I mean everything. They categorize who has what and where people are. They are often people who are NOT part of the neighborhood, but will call racism if caught or questioned.

If you don't watch your stuff, the "walkers" will get it. Days later you can find it at the pawn shop.

The fact is we can no longer arrest enough of these guys to prevent what is happening. It used to be 80% of the crimes were committed by 10% of the criminals. These days? Everyone seems to be in on it. Someone gets arrested, two others step up and replace that person who is now gone (at least for the day). So shooting them is out of the question.

Was this guy a "walker", yep. Of that there is no question. Beyond that, I have no opinion any longer.
