Who knows about http://amac.us/ compared to AARP as far as insurance offered and other services?

I just hate to join an Antigun group like AARP.

I know AAPR is just a lobby group for insurance companies and sell insurance but the other group is news to me.

It just chaps my hide to give to a socialist anti gun group!

Anyone a member of AMAC that can comment?

To be fair is there a third group I should know about?

AMAC has a website that may help you decide. I dropped AARP several years ago and joined AMAC last year, but you need to research for yourself. Here's their site: amac.us

gawarriorqueen is right about doing your own research, but in general AARP is entirely liberal in almost all their programs and views.
AMAC is the conservative answer to that. They do offer almost all the same discounts for all the services and products that AARP offers.
I went with AMAC, after I heard them advertised on a couple of commercials on conservative radio.

AARP is in bed with both. Do you really think the insurance companies aren't going to make money big time? AARP collects billions from their sales of insurance. And seniors don't have to pay a fine if they are on medicare. We do have to pay higher copays and deductibles, but hey, it's so our care can be more affordable.

I'm with AMAC, and really like it.

AARP runs their own insurance. They are big dupes for Obama, and have all sorts of in's on Obamacare.

AARP is just in it for themselves and they also wanted Obama Care to pass and went and invested in the medical biz to further their financial gains at the expense of their AARP customers.
If 1/3 of the AARP customers canceled their account with them over night, they would likely have to claim bankruptcy.

obamacare guarantees profitable insurance rules for insurance companies. and when we go to single payer socialized med, insur co. 's will profit just like they do with medicare... bacause govt does not administer medicare, nor will it administer single payer... they will subcontract all that to various insur co's to administer. insur co will get a slice of $$ that pass thru theor hands... profit with no risk,

I joined, but here's why.....

AARP dues are about $15 per year. They mail you a glossy magazine each month. Also send you at least one mail solicitation for insurance and another asking for a donation or something.

The cost of those items to produce, mail, and pay for staff far exceeds the dues they collect. That is why they are constanly asking for donations and selling high profit insurance products.

If you join but refuse to buy anything, they lose money on you. Furthermore, if you really want it to hurt, you take every postage paid envelope they send you and seal it and return it. More expenses to them.

I tell people "I'm the member they wish they didnt have."

It works for any other cause or organization. Get on their mailing list or join if its a nominal fee and then make them bleed dollars to keep you.
