Nearly 90% Of Americans Think Biden Is ‘Too Old’ To Serve Another Term As President: POLL

An overwhelming majority of Americans believe President Joe Biden is “too old” to serve another term following the release of a special counsel report that described him as a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory,” a Sunday poll found.

Special counsel Robert Hur’s report declined to pursue criminal charges against Biden in the classified documents investigation, but detailed how interviewers questioned the president’s mental capacity. An ABC News/Ipsos survey found that 85% of Americans believe Biden is “too old” ahead of the 2024 election, compared to 62% who said the same of former President Donald Trump.

Biden is already the oldest president in U.S. history, and would be 86-years-old by the end of a potential second term. While the former president is currently 77, only 3% of Americans viewed “only Trump” as “too old” for another term compared to 27% who said the same of Biden, according to the poll.

Most Americans view both men as “too old” for reelection at 59%, and 11% didn’t think either were, the poll found.

Hur’s report found that the president willfully withheld classified documents from his time as vice president related to important national security matters. The special counsel recalled moments where Biden failed to remember when his son, Beau, passed away, as well as the duration of his vice presidency.

“Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him-by then a former president well into his eighties-of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness,” the report reads.

Biden held a press conference just hours after the report was released in an attempt to quell concerns over his mental fitness, during which he mixed up the leaders of Mexico and Egypt, and contradicted key components of the special counsel’s findings.

The White House pointed the Daily Caller News Foundation toward a Saturday memo which listed several individuals who have refuted concerns over Biden’s age and mental fitness, including the father of freed Hamas hostage Liat Beinin Atzili, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs Gen. Mark Milley, former House Republican Speaker Kevin McCarthy and GOP Sen. Mitt Romney of Utah.

“President Biden’s experience, character, and drive have made him the most successful president in modern history, getting the country back on its feet after inheriting a nation in crisis and going on to achieve goals that eluded his predecessors for decades,” the memo reads. “And this undeniable record speaks to why it’s no surprise that Republican officials’ continue their desperate – and inadvertently self-undermining – age attacks after many years of failure: they’re afraid of Joe Biden.”

The president is currently trailing Trump, who is the clear frontrunner for the Republican nomination, by roughly two points in the RealClearPolitics average for a potential 2024 head-to-head matchup. Trump is also leading Biden in several crucial battleground states, including Arizona, Nevada, Georgia and Michigan.

The ABC News/Ipsos poll surveyed 528 adults nationwide from Feb. 9 to Feb. 10 with a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5%.

Biden’s campaign did not immediately respond to the DCNF’s request for comment.

It's not that Biden is "Too old" . . . it's that his mental state has declined so far that he's endangering this entire country. These articles keep focusing on the "Too old" angle - related to the age - so that they can sweep PDJT into the mix as well. I've held incredibly deep and detailed discussions with individuals in their middle to late 90s who are intelligent and mentally wise (some physically able . . . others not so).

We need to remember that this is not about the 'age' number . . . but, rather the mental ability.

Thomas Sowell comes to mind. He's 93.

Sadly, the legal standard in both the US and Ireland is that the person has to understand the charges against them and participate (via their lawyers) in their defense.

The scary thing about the prosecutor's decision not to proceed to trial may have been gently said. Still, it translated into him not feeling a jury (or perhaps even the judge) would find him competent to stand trial. The bar for that can be pretty high (as it should be); otherwise, criminals could use it all the time. As it is, they can try to, but most of the time, it doesn't work.

Knowing this, even if I thought Joe Biden was a fantastic President, I would now be thinking that, at the very least, he shouldn't run again, and perhaps it was time to resign. As it is, I strongly feel this way.

I understand why the Prosecutor used gentle and careful language; he's not a doctor, but he is an experienced prosecutor. I think his judgment on this holds a lot of weight.

This is what I was thinking as well, younger generations are screaming for age limits for congress, etc.

What they really want and don't it know is term limits.
The younger generation has no idea what they are doing and easily lead to do something they should not.

I'm not sure I agree with age limits as much as cognitive testing to determine fitness. Age should give Congress members more wisdom in dealing with the serious matters that need to be dealt with by them. Term limits would work to get rid of bad eggs, but the problem is it would also get rid of people who are strong representatives of the people.

Another consideration is that Congress has voted themselves lifetime income after leaving Congress. Think how much money that would amount to if they each serve only two terms. Realistically, the lifetime income is such a bad idea that it should be eliminated. Done serving, then draw unemployment for six months then find a job like the rest of us poor fools that pay their salaries.

Neither here nor there.

They also get lifetime immunity for insider trading, which adds to their coffers.

It is inescapable logic that if Joe Biden is incompetant to stand trial, he is incompetant to remain in the office of the President. Period.
And this is why the left is lambasting Hur as a right-wing political hack now. They can't argue with what he laid out, nor with its logical implications.

So how many will follow the narrative they setup here?
How about Biden is too mentally defunked to hold office and Harris cannot be trusted.

Ah, but as I said earlier, if Biden is not incompetent, then he absolutely should be prosecuted same as Trump. That too would put their knickers in a knot. As I recall, a VP does not have authority to declassify, while a President does.

When you have a Dog King, what does it even matter?
And do those 10% who think he's "a-ok" just live in fantasy world?

Goodness before greatness.
I bet I could put blank purple post-it notes on the foreheads of 75% of those 1 in 10 true-believers without even a conversation.

Insanity has a certain disconnect to the well being of society.
