Wait, I thought this was HARD to catch??

Color me puzzled.

A freelance cameraman working with an NBC News crew has tested positive for ebola, the network said Thursday night.

The cameraman was working with the crew of NBC chief medical correspondent Dr. Nancy Snyderman in Libera. The news came out in a memo sent to NBC staffers by NBC News President Deborah Turness.

The diagnosis comes as officials in Dallas are scrambling to ensure the safety of people who may have come into contact with Thomas Eric Duncan, an ebola patient who recently arrived in the United States from Liberia.

Betty Rose thanks for this thread.

They/them TPTB continue to state that it isn't an airborne virus.

Why would the NBC cameraman have had any physical contact
with someone that might have this dreaded disease,
knowing how fatal the disease is?

More and more information like this indicates that ebola is in fact airborne.

Many doctors that specialize in the diseases that are caused by viruses,
are stating that ebola is an airborne virus.

Once the regular don't get it public realizes that it is in fact airborne,
it is going to be an absolute nightmare in this country.

Prepare as best possible.

Regards to all,
Nowski

you would think that working with a medical correspondent that they would have taken what were thought to be necessary precautions

I figure that this will cause the news to grow exponentially, just like the beheading of the news guys cause the ISIS story to take off. Get a news person, and then it is real news.

And YET again we a "assured" the this virus is not airborne.

It would be a joke if it were not 90% fatal.

I am SURE the photog exchanged bodily fluids with someone who was infected....Right!

The fan is oscelating faster and faster....

I think so damn many people in Liberia are carrying the germs around, you can't tell when to take precautions, and when it's safe. Even people who aren't sick, may have the virus on them.

I hope she catches it. I can't stand that biatch, especially after I watched her on a morning news show making fun of a blue guy that made his own colloidal silver.

Operative words here: "what were THOUGHT to be necessary precautions".

And wait for it....

Well we THOUGHT those precautions were adequate. There is SO MUCH we are STILL LEARNING about Ebola....

You heard it here first.

And yet you'd be amazed at the number of people who believe themselves to be invincible, even when drawing their last breath.

Why would you want her to become immortalized??? I mean seriously, wouldn't it be more fitting if she died choking on caviar or something like that?

This was something mentioned on NPR this morning is that a lot of folks are asymptomatic or worse typhoid mary's in that they carry the virus but it doesn't harm them. There's much to yet be learned about this virus.

You can bet, there are a lot of cases of Ebola out there, that has not been confirmed yet!

So we have to have cool heads, but still get prepared for just in case. Get plenty of food and water for at least 6 months. If you do not have the money, then get what you can.

Once this stuff hits your community, you will not want to be going out into the public to get stuff.

Just think of the 3,000 troops that will be in harms way. How many of them will be exposed and possibly bringing Ebola home?

This too shall pass.
With what we've been reading about ebola patients lying around in their own (and other patients) body fluids, I suspect the ground/floors of the medical centers are pretty well contaminated with the ebola virus. So here comes photographer and others, walking all over this contaminated ground. Go back to their hotel and take off their shoes with bare hands. Voila, they are exposed to ebola even if they did everything else right that day.

100% correct.
They may not be showing signs because there isn't enough virus in them yet.
Once they show signs, all that means is that the ebola virus has multiplied enough that the body can't handle it any more.

This stuff is being spewed all over the place.

Really, what do you want the government to say, WE ARE ALL FU&KED.
They are doing exactly what they should do.

Just because someone gets it who likely didn't touch a dead person who died from Ebola doesn't mean it is air born. Before a person with Ebola dies they are alive, and touching their face and what not, getting whatever bodily fluids on door knobs, flush levers, shaking hands, etc.. Try to pay attention to how many times a day you touch your face, with entry points with the eyes, nose, and mouth.

If a person with ebola sneezes or coughs, the droplets of saliva and/or mucus will be laden with viruses. Such sneeze/cough material can travel feet and land on people or surfaces. Frieden the freak finally admitted that yesterday. Or of course, projectile vomiting.

Um.. no, they aren't! What they SHOULD be doing is telling the truth. They SHOULD be closing the borders, or *at least* stopping anyone from entering this country on a visa or passport from any infected country. They SHOULD be telling people "if we can't keep this from spreading, there may come a time when you must shelter in place in your home for a matter of weeks, and we strongly suggest that you begin preparing for that eventuality now".

If they'd admit to the possible transfer via doorknobs, shopping carts, etc, and began getting people used to being more aware of personal hygiene, using hand cleaner and sanitizing wipes frequently, greeting people without a hug or handshake, changing to individual Communion cups in church, etc NOW, they just might be able to make this less of a disaster than it otherwise would be.

Instead, they're treating everyone like brain damaged sheep.
