By her own admission she only orders small lots and only handles the Cooker; no cookware or accessories so although it could be longer to get direct-ordering, it might not be a lot longer depending on where Janie is in her order/sales cycle.

My thought (because I've wondered about this before) was, how big does the reflector have to be before it could be used for blacksmithing work?

I made two of these over the weekend. They work well so far. I still need to make trays and finish proper end caps.

Approx 5" OD tube x 20" long. Was at 200 degrees with overcast sky today, no shadows at all from the sun. I will test in full sun tomorrow.

 

[China Connection]

I got my unit in the post yesterday. You don't get a lot for the money. Would not be too hard to make a unit for yourself. Instructions are in French. No cooking instructions come with it.

Using a thermal cooker with the solar oven would be the way to go on low sun days.
