i realized i had been using scenes of films to send messages or underline how i was feeling, and thought it good and right (and fun...yes, we can laugh even in the darkest hour) to open i thread so that you can post scenes from films that mean a lot to you, or describe your heart...its our "mythology",and mythology IS important, stories are important, so i'm start this off,and i may make more than a few posts. you tube's a good harvest field,so here goes

This is a rarity, the full movie in HD, you might want to DL it NOW, the reason i posted this, is that when you live in a shtf AND if you LIVE, you might find yourself getting high on adrenalin.....this is part one of 5

There's no clip for this one, and can't say it changed my life, but it is accurate. It's from one of my favorite movies, Time Cop.

"Elections are won with television. You don’t need the press. You don't need endorsements. You don’t even need the truth. You need money."

And another, Dune:

"Fear is the mind killer" I've been meaning to add that one to my sig.

African Queen - Humphrey Bogart (Charlie Allnut) and Katherine Hepburn (Rosie Thayer)

"Nature, Mr. Allnut is what mankind was put on earth to rise above."

Apparently re-mastered and back in theaters in 2011.

i saw "The Hurt Locker"available to you all,and had to link it, so if you had missed it, here it is. mind you i was just going to do scenes, so please excuse the divergence from my intent. Shea

The Right Stuff

I LOVE it when mankind succeeds. You humans are all my hero, mostly. And when you do good, I feel good.

This video clip is Bill Conti's soundtrack which is a blending of at least three patriotic and uplifting themes. A good listen all by itself. But the video cuts tell the story in brief shots. In 10 minutes you get the gist of the entire movie.

And James Cameron's Avatar

I was VERY taken with the graphic display of the spectrum of humanity in this film. From the most knavery skulduggery to the highest motivations - they're all there.

And the scene with the Banshee which pulls a page from the horse playbook.

"You don't pick an Ikran (banshee) - they pick you."

Movie conveniently left open for a sequel I noted. I'll bet the sequel isn't near as good as the original pix.

what I fear may be a scene here before very long if things keep going the way they are. I can see having to tell my kids the same thing.

me too...i have 'links' to that film...very proud of Jeremy Renner, and Kathryn Bigelow. .....and i loved it when she beat her ex husband king of the world cameron for the best picture that year...that made it all worthwhile, cherry on the cake.

So how do you imbed youtube clips again?

Under the youtube video there is a "share" button; when pressed an "embed" button should appear. When the "embed button is pressed a code will appear (if not disabled); if you copy this code in your post here it should embed the video.

The briefcase scene in Collateral.

Lesson here: When dealing with scum, don't waste a lot of time talking. Just slap leather and start mowing bastards down.

OK, well... I'm not seeing JS imbedded.

:bwl:

I knew this was how I would go out. Not the Golden Horde. Not the zombies. Not the reptilians. Nope, not knowing how to properly imbed videos on vbulletin forums was always going to be my downfall.

NBCSurvivor,

Sorry, forgot the BB code ...

Go down to the right bottom of this page to "BB code" is on; click on "BB code".
Scroll down the page to "video".

Type exactly as shown but substitute LuBToeQeeEU from your video.
Should work.

This has been with me from the first time I saw it.
And it has not left me.

Many that live deserve death, and some that die deserve life.

Do not be too eager to deal out death in judgment. Even the very wise cannot see all ends.

I wish none of this had happened.
So do all who live to see such times; but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.

There are other forces at work in this world ... besides the will of evil.

Ben Johnson is probably my favorite actor, now silly as this sounds, coz i love my dad, he's gone now, but when i was a kid, i wished Ole Ben would raise me,coz my dad and i were very very different people, Ben was my template...here's a scene, and here's what he got for doing this movie..watch the order, you can see the decency in the man.

and for that he got this
