[MISC] Fondue Dinners

I heard about this multi-course Fondue dinner. You start
with small appetizers-pickles, onions, baby corn, etc. and
sections of fresh non-Iceberg lettuce. There are supposed to be several dipping sauces-Ranch dressing, etc.

Then, you have assorted breads with a selection of cheese/wine
mixes.

Then the main course, with a variety of rolled up meats, vegetables and seafood, with a selection of hot broth's.

Last, you have an assortment of Iced melon balls and strawberries with powdered sugar and chocolate sauce

Does this sound at all familiar?

No, this doesn't sound familiar, but it sure does sound delicious!

And now for probably the most disgusting fondue recipe I ever heard of, courtesy of Jimmy Dean.com
:kk1: Heart attack anyone? A little more oil with your dinner, sir?

Polish Sausage with Cheese Fondue

1 package Jimmy Dean Polish Dinner Sausage
1 can chopped green chilies
16 ounces Cheese Whiz
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2-3 dashes Tabasco sauce

Cook sausage in a skillet according to package directions; drain and remove from skillet, slice into 1-inch pieces. Add all remaining ingredients to the skillet and stir until well blended. Add sausage to cheese mixture. Transfer to fondue pot and serve with Melba toast or hard, crusty bread.

Does anyone know where to buy more fuel for the fondue pots? I bought a nice fondue pot, prior to Y2K, for heating foods, in an emergency, during the winter, when you can't use a grill. But, once the fuel is gone, I don't know where to buy more. Wonder if it is easily available....I don't see fondue pots around, much, anymore.

This company has a fuel supply (no doubt proprietary) that
they claim is safe, and non-toxic to use indoors. The company
is based in Houston.

What about Sterno? My research suggests that there is a solid
fuel cartridge that avoids the notorious evaporation problems
with the standard variety. Probably a gel/paste too?

The standard ones can be purchased anywhere. Wal-Mart
had a big display of stoves and fuel in the camping section.
Never too early for Spring,eh? :)
