Few Americans can remember the last time our society was running smoothly. Today, we know we cannot rely on the ones we call leaders to support us when we need them. It feels like the good times have been gone for so long that most people are losing their memories of when this was a powerful, strong, and united nation. Now, things are going from bad to worse everywhere you look. Our industries are collapsing; domestic production is dramatically slowing; we're still in the middle of the worst and most complicated supply chain crisis in history; our markets are alarmingly unstable; people are being forced out of their jobs; the survival of hundreds of thousands of businesses is on the line; inflation is effectively downgrading our living standards; and turbulence and chaos are taking over the streets of our major urban areas. The perspectives for the future aren't looking good. In fact, there were only a few other occasions throughout the history of our country where things looked this bad.

And none of the above conditions are an accident.
No accident by a long shot.

Everything was improving until the MFing commies stole the election.

Remember that as you load your magazines
We had the best economy in years, everything was improving each day with MAGA, always a win here and there.

To install communism they have to tear down our system so they can rebuild it their style. They want us scared and dependent on our dear leaders.

The only way they could pull it off was to steal the election.

President Trump did a damn good job cleaning up things!!! I miss him SO much that this Prairie Dog almost wants to cry!!
Oh, this guy again. Sorry, can't listen to him.
Ha ha...I can understand your dislike, but oddly I like his voice. I can see though how it would gtate on someone's ears. I think I like the British accent if that is what he is.

Has No Life - Lives on TB
It's fact that the general population is more interested in woodstoves this year than years past.

At least in my AO.
Yep...trying to get one for the new place. Vermont Castings, who has their own foundry, is having problems finding steel and workers. Put 1/2 down and was told it will be January at the earliest before we receive it. I'm in SE Lower MI.

If you ain't got it by now, you ain't gonna get it. Prepping is a life long task, not something you can do by the end of the month.

I don't advise those that recently woke up that it's too late to start, give up, throw in the towel, and simply await their imminent demise. Not yet anyway. I'm still distributing the the Disaster and Preparedness 101 manual that i wrote to anyone that will take it.

The system is sinking out from under them. It isn't as if they have any choice - sink or swim.

I don't know, I don't like videos with intense music in the background designed to solicit my emotional response. I want the facts and let me choose which emotion to attach to it.

But honestly, as far back as I can remember, I've been hearing how the world is about to come to an end. There was the global warming scare, the Mayan Calendar, and the Millennium Bug. There was a panic over Hally's Comet, solar flares and asteroids. Remember AIDS, ebola and the bird flu? Today the Yellowstone crater is bulging, the San Andreas is past due and the La Palma volcano could unleash a massive tsunami at any moment. It's always something.

IMHO, anyone who ones a fire extinguisher is already a prepper - beyond that, it's just a matter of degree. You can own nothing and have no skills and still be just fine if you can find a community stupid enough to take you in.

Prepping has been a lifelong adventure for me. Some aspects had a steep learning curve for sure.

I would say this: Anyone can go from 0 to 60 as a prepper by purchasing just these 3 things:

Canned food.
Water filter.
Shotgun (with shells).

Oh, there is a lot more, of course, but anyone can go from , “I’m toast” to “Give me a fighting chance.” The mental attitude alone may end up saving one’s life.

Exactly, and Toosh makes a good point. ""Prepping is a matter of degrees." Any newbie can get up to speed quickly to make it through 30 days of no food in the supermarkets. Water, food, and a shotgun, good place to start. Grid down indefinitely? Well ok, that's a whole 'nother deal.
