Police in Melbourne, Australia now have the power to enter people’s homes without a warrant and perform ‘spot checks’ to enforce compliance with new coronavirus lockdown rules.

After the state of Victoria announced a “state of disaster” in response to a spike in coronavirus cases, Premier of the state Daniel Andrews told residents, “We can no longer have people simply out and about for no good reason whatsoever.”

In addition to an 8pm to 5am curfew, residents can only leave their homes outside those hours to shop for food and essential items, carry out care and caregiving, as well as daily exercise and work.

The new powers also give police the right to “enter your home to carry out spot checks even if you don’t give them permission and they don’t have a warrant,” reports LockdownSkeptics.org.

Controls on buying have also been introduced, restricting citizens to purchases of no more than two of certain essential items, including dairy, meat, vegetables, fish and toilet paper.

As we highlighted earlier, immediately after the government announced the new draconian measures, police in their hundreds positioned themselves around residential tower blocks to ensure no one could leave.

People were told they must stay in the residence in which they slept the previous night for the next six weeks. Anyone who violates the new rules faces a fine of up to $1,652, an amount which is set to be increased.

As Toby Young writes, the spike in COVID-19 cases in the region could simply be due to the fact that more tests are being conducted.

“Victoria tested almost 43,000 on Sunday, July 26th, twice as many as on normal days, and the peak on Wednesday could be due to the few days delay before the results come through. In addition, a percentage of the positive results are likely due to the extensive contact tracing introduced in the past few weeks, with targeted testing of those who’ve been in contact with other infected people.”

“It looks like a familiar pattern: on the advice of public health officials, a political leader ramps up testing and introduces a track-and-trace programme, then, when the number of cases inevitably increases, the leader panics and introduces draconian new measures.”

Check Out Melbourne’s Crazy New Stage 4 Cononavirus Lockdown Rules

Melbourne, Australia, is going under a nearly full lockdown for the next six weeks, a phase that started Sunday and runs until Sept. 13.
Here are the rules:
  • Must stay within 5km (3 mi) radius of home.
  • Only one person from a household is allowed to shop per day.
  • No more than one hour of exercise per day and groups limited to two.
  • Recreational activity is banned.
  • Curfew from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.
But the government officials say “you can leave your house if you are at risk of family violence or to apply for an intervention order, and to attend court or a police station,” The Guardian reports.

And masks, of course, are required.

“People must wear a mask or covering whenever leaving the house. There are a few exceptions. People with a medical reason are exempt, as are children younger than 12. Those who have a professional reason are also exempt and “if it’s just not practical, like when running”, but those people will still be expected to carry a face covering at all times ‘to wear when you can,'” the UK paper said.

The paper also had this gem about a “bonk ban”:
Can I have visitors to my house? Can I see my partner?
You cannot have visitors or go to another person’s house unless it is for the purpose of giving or receiving care. You can leave your house to visit a person if you are in an “intimate personal relationship” with them, even during curfew hours. That is, there is no “bonk ban.”
If your partner lives outside Melbourne and/or 5km of your home you can still visit them.
Cleaners, tradespeople, gardeners, painters and renovators are not allowed to visit your house for work. Exceptions exist for emergency issues like a burst pipe, and for providing care for welfare and wellbeing like Meals on Wheels.
Restaurants and cafes will be closed through Phase Four, but liquor stores somehow curb the spread as they’ll remain open for pick ups.

Oh, and all residents of the city will be banned from leaving for any reason. Plus, no one can come to Melbourne, either, unless it’s an emergency.

And finally, no weddings allowed, and funerals will be capped at 10 people in attendance.
Welcome to communism, Aussie style.

This is why the powers that be DISARMED the populace some 30 years ago after some crazy shot a bunch of people. Just like that pm globalist bitch is doing in New Zealand, and Trudeau junior is trying to do in Canada. This is why they disarm us so they can do stuff like this.
Now, for me he/she gets a 20 gauge suppository. :lkick:

Police in Australia are going door to door making sure people are home. Failure to be present at the time results in massive fine, and who knows what else. A literal police state. Downright terrifying abuse of human rights.

Here in the ZUSA they are likely to get everyone hooked on "free money" then demand concessions to keep getting the freebies. Get your COVID shot, turn in your guns, you know. Time will tell.

But the marionette strings come in 10 designer colours, and ole krazy karen will lose her chit if I don't wear mine in solidarity with all the other lemmings. . . unless of course it is riot night, then I get a hell pass.

Five Thousand dollars if you brake quarantine. This can be as simple as coming across an Australian state border.

Twenty thousand dollars if you go to work if you are under quarantine.

Yikes! If there ever was an example of present-day totalitarianism to a formerly free country, then I don't know what is!!!

At least it won't happen here and here are 2 reasons why we won't follow Australia. We didn't give up our guns and our police force is now demoralized as they look to be defunded!

So no, I don't see them knocking at our doors just to do a "house check" any time soon.

(And, I don't see the progressives rousing up thousands of "COVID Check Force Officers" from the caliber of their snowflake followers to do it either.)

That is the plan as I see it. They can’t do overt confiscation, too obvious and too much pushback. However with the Rona taking out the rest of the economy massive inflation is on the way along with a UBI stipend. Most will want the free money like the $600 a week extra in unemployment benefits and become dependent upon it.

No such thing as a free lunch as we all know. They will use the UBI as the carrot and threaten to take it away as the stick. Want your UBI this week? Sorry, our records show you haven’t received your Rona vaccination yet and you need to be vaccinated before we can issue your benefit. They can do the same thing with food assistance vouchers, the giving up of personal firearms for ‘safety’ if you have children in the house, etc.

With your UBI smartphone app they could make you document all sorts of things and of course work in China’s virtual intelligence social credit scoring system as well. That is the plan, pulling it off is another thing altogether though.

Does anyone remember when CCP virus was first brought up by Trump/Barr. Barr made a statement that scared me! He said those of you sitting on your Hoards of TP boxes...We're coming for YOU! What's the difference between 'hoarding' and being 'prepared?' I've been getting cases of TP for years, in the name of preparing!

This. People will comply if they can maintain their needs and comforts.

They will use every angle - shut off your utilities, internet, phone... just for starters. People will get low on food, water, and medicine eventually.

Surely many will fight this, but many more will roll right over. Anyone remember the lockdowns and door to door visits from the Boston marathon bombings?
