You raise an interesting, possible, interpretation of mask events - when COVID first showed up, it was Team Fauci that pounded the "must mask" drum into the American consciousness. Yet, when interviewed on 60 Minutes in May 2020, Dr. Fauci stated clearly that masks do little good for J6P, per se.
Next, Dr. Birx was compelled to note that the CDC data that her models relied upon, was faulty - by as much as 25% - and perhaps more. At one of the last pressers, she had to stand before God and country, and reveal this issue - ate crow while the world watched.
Am thinking that Team Fauci has told Team Trump that they are not willing to take too much more heat about mask wearing, by standing up and re-proclaiming such - though, Dr. Fauci is back, out there and loud, about wearing masks - still - yet was recently caught on camera, at a baseball game, in the stands, NOT wearing a mask while seated closely with others - what is the REAL story, Dr. Fauci?
By having Trump appear at one of the recent pressers wearing a mask, I suspect that Team Trump is attempting to give the quickly faltering "mask-always" message a boost in the eyes of J6P - which, if true, begs for an explanation regarding many past public events where Trump did NOT wear a mask.
