Minor nitpick - it's Guy Fawkes named after the guy who tried to blow up parliment
Love the story, though

Thank you, again. Wonder how many others ran over to Youtube to listen to Roy Clark play Malaguena on the 12 string? I haven't heard it in a while.
Listen to Charro's stuff sometime!

Charo was much better than Roy's I thought.
Yep, in a class of its own.Listen to Charro's stuff sometime!
her training in classical Spanish guitar is the difference. Roy is shit hot all around, but she is a specialist
The first group did not have this kind of time to prep and plan. They were knee deep right off the bat.
oh hell ya, gimme 2 each and a deuce anda half of ammo, oh happy timesThe 1st group was on the event horizon, this group was isolated somewhat. Keep in mind that we are reading parallel time lines. I wish I was on that Christmas list!
Don't bother wrapping my Carl G; I'll take it to go thanks.Oh boy my own cannon
There's an absolute crapload of reliable, functional & accurate sidearms today. I have some Glocks & a 226; all good but...nothing compares in my mind to a properly tuned JMB design; give me a Series 70 or a P35 HiPower any day (or night) and I'm as happy as a bear w/ a bee hive. She was looking at what she would consider her retirement present to herself under the Sergeant Major’s guidelines.

Icing on my cake would be CT grips & Mepro Lights -- yeah, being greedy but....one can dream.
Yeah I get that but that's my personal issue; they're like toaster ovens....just a damn appliance! A G21 w/ propper ammo is an almost impossible-to-beat tool but it has all the soul of a rock. Steel & walnut reign supreme at my house -- OK, cocobolo is good too (my 4" 19 just wouldn't look right w/ anything else and the 2.25" simply won't shoot.)The difference is in sustainability. As good as the 1911 is and the Hi-Power, they require fitment for any replacement parts. The plastic fantastics are true plug and play. I have several of both types. The glock and HKs are like a claw hammer- a great tool for a purpose, but the 1911 and P35, they inspire confidence and are a pleasure to just hold.
The wife and I have what we call our camping or kayak guns. If they fall in the water and go to the bottom, we don't cry for too long. Currently they are Glock 23 Ported.
There is nothing better than a hand crafted 1911 that the gunsmith has tuned and polished, just like butter....The difference is in sustainability.
